Hi, I'm pale1 and I wanted to see if I could get some feedback on some builds that I have made. I am currently a builder for a server called guncolony and we have a bunch of gun related games on our server so I mostly am building fps maps these days.

Please tell me what you think!

Bonus points if you can tell what video game these maps are from ;)

I've started work on a new original map (not from any video game) and I added it to the pictures above. Please give feedback and note that it is a work in progress

The layout of the maps looks pretty good, but it is very lacking in detail. To add depth without constricting passageways, I would recommend adding stairs built into the walls. Also, you need to add a lot more block variation (cracked/mossy/stairs in stonebricks).

Also, I have been building a vanilla quakecraft game and some of these maps might work great for that if you wanted to publish them. If you do decide to release them, please send me a message so I can check it out! Thanks!

Thanks for the feedback! Unfortunately I won't be releasing these maps to the public as they are only meant to be playable on the guncolony server. I might have some other works that you may be interested in though! I'll post them in the future if you're interested

The maps provide great detail, but in a FPS, having some form of cover would be ideal. For instance, in an open field, put a hill here, a fence, or even a wall, to prevent campers from dominating, add ways to get up to the roof/other high areas, like collapsed buildings, and ways to flank, like a tunnel.

These maps are remakes of fps maps from a popular game haha! There's tons of cover do not worry. Speaking purely about gameplay these maps work perfectly.

First impressions are extremely good, I can't tell you what games they are from cause I don't play nearly enough shooters.

Maybe early call of duty?

Looks good! I would recommend adding depth to the builds and more block variants as others have mentioned before, as I've noticed your builds are kinda square / boxy. Otherwise it looks great! Keep up the good work

Depth can be hard to add sometimes with these sorts of maps since adding depth to a wall removes space from the interior. If the interior is too small it's bad for combat. I hope that makes sense. I do agree though, if I could add more depth to my builds I totally would.

I would recommend simply building in different shapes. Instead of a box, why not go for a T-shape? or something like that. As for depth, simply making the depth between 2 blocks adds a good portion towards it. If space is an issue, simply making a larger area could be a resolution. If you'd like I can send you some examples of what I've built if you're confused on what I mean. Simply throwing out suggestions, feel free to do whatever you feel is right!

ThatTonyboo has a point, but besides that they really are some great builds! The only thing that bothers me is, why is the car made out of wood? xD I'm kidding.

We have a resource pack on guncolony that makes jungle wood look more like a stone texture lol. Sorry if it looks weird!

They look nice, maybe add some variations in block usage and some "noise" (I believe its called that, I'm a crap builder). Otherwise, nice!
