I am making my first adventure map. it is going to be about going through different hard steps to get to a castle inside the castle you will face mobs and traps but once you finish you will get rich off of diamond and stuff. if you have any tips please tell me. thank you

I agree with what farseer said. There are lots of YouTube videos and written tutorials out there about red stone. If it is visually pleasing, and an excellent interior with mechanisms, you should have a successful adventure map.

Make the map pretty long and use Sethbling's magical mcedit filters.

Although, neither command blocks nor redstone will help if the builds are bad. Also, I suggest using voxelsniper or worldedit to do some scenic terraforming.

Command blocks are your best friend. Redstone is your next best.
