Animated Paintings?

I've seen them done, but all the existing tutorials I've found are from before the Redstone update and I don't know if the old method of animating still works. I've animated regular items/blocks no problem by adding a .txt file with the same name, but when I tried using the same method for paintings it didn't work. I also tried out a couple of the tutorials I did find (using anim folder and a .properties file), but that didn't work either. Does anybody here know how to do this?

You can stil animate paintings, but you have to use the old school MCPatcher method. Go to MCPatcher's thread and read the "Information for Texture Pack Authors" section, and see if you can get an idea.
