Connected textures in Vanilla *HELP*

Hello Texture Pack Forumers
I was wondering if there was a way to make connected textures in a texture pack I'm making specifically glass
If there is a way could you leave it in the comments below
Do you know if there is a way to do this with out optifine?
Like a way to make it so I'm running vanilla w/out mods and have the glass connected?
If so, that'd be huge!

You can make it look connected if you make the glass texture seamless, but that might look weird
