Different textures for differently dyed item?
is there any way to get minecraft to use a different texture for an entity dyed a specific colour without needing a mod?
minecraft already saves the dye data of a dyed entity, regardless of whether it actually is an entity that you are supposed to be able to dye, so the question is if there is any way available in resource packs to make minecraft prefer displaying an alternative texture in the pack instead of the standard entity texture if the entity is dyed a specific colour
for example, if it is a boat with {color:0} it displays a texture labeled as boat_0.png (or however it needs to be named) instead of the boat.png it would use otherwise
any informed response is appreciated, thank you for the help

can you at least read the post before you respond, not just write anything vaguely related to the headline?
and to anyone who knows an answer, please share
