Fallout 3/NV Gun Models
As a side project I'm going to be making a couple of gun models for a Fallout themed server. Since the 9mm pistol is the first weapon you recieve upon logging in, I figured it'd be the best place to start.

Damn, these are really well done. Nice job, man.

Halorules555How do these weapons actually work? Are they like swords or a plugin or something?
These models replace some misc items (the fatman -in this case- being a wooden shovel).
The server is using a gun plugin, which is being reworked as we speak.

Super sexy! Needs Anti-Materiel Rifle to make ultra sexy!

I can now rest peacefully knowing there's 3D fallout gun models for minecraft.

Awesome, dude.
I haven't had much time, now that I've gotten a new job in a different city and all, but in the long run I plan on making models that cover a bunch of different franchises including, but not limited to
Star Wars, The Legend of Zelda, Mass Effect, The Elder Scrolls.
Anyways, let's not get ahead of ourselves.

UPDATE
It's finally done. +/- 280 elements went into this one.
The colorscheme is subject to change.

These look very good. I have good faith in you, Vexilius.

Thanks, man
I've been working on the model for the iconic fat man.
Perhaps later I will give it a different colorscheme.
After prettymuch completing the model of this weapon, I actually think this is doable.
As always I try not to make any posts without at least explaining something or providing an update.
Turns out my mininuke model was too small for this one, so I'll have to redo that.

Bump for tha man.

You are very good at pixel modeling. I am better at solid cube.

Looks great, it would be a lot of fun to use a FatMan that could actually destroy the world around it (even if that world was made of blocks lol)
If this is Fallout 3...maybe you'll need to make the Experimental MIRV and hide it somewhere good

It's not a fallout 3 server, but since MIRV and standard look similar we can create a enchanted version that will be called MIRV

UPDATE
Prioritizing the fat man, since the server doesn't have a texture for it.
I just finished my pixel art for it in photoshop, which I'll then extrapolate into 3D.

I didn't know Stormtrooper armor was standard issue for NCR troopers.

Can I ask which program you use to make these amazing 3D guns?

Not that I'm looking to hire or anything, but how much does a person like you charge for 3D models commission-wise?
1
There are plenty of factors that play a role in that. Each commission is unique in regards to complexity, deadlines and sometimes even my personal enjoyment amongst other things.
So far I've only handled small and specific ones like a few item models here and there. I haven't overhauled an entire resourcepack yet, but you can probably understand that doing that would be very time-consuming and as a result, very costly.
So far on average I've charged about $5 per model and $8-12 if it has to be animated (some ask for lightning arcs and stuff you require extra plugins for to even create). Keep in mind that my models are getting more and more complex as I'm still gaining experience.
A combination of Adobe Photoshop CS6, Qubicle 2.5, Sphax' BD Cubik and sometimes, but not always, Blender. None of these programs (save for Blender) are freeware.
If you're looking for free equivalents, try GIMP 2.8, MagicaVoxel (blind recommendation) and MrCrayFish's Model edittor.
MrCrayFish's Model edittor doesn't have a lot of the capabilities you'll need, so you'll have to add some code manually instead.
Yeah, I didn't feel like changing my skin for this, since I'm still updating my star wars thread regularly. If I did, I wouldn't go NCR, but BoS.

Well it really depends on what you need model'ed. If its small like say a pistol normally most people wouldnt mind doing it for free

nice.
