NP.
The gray stripes are happening because parts of the texture are more transparent than others.

Try to uncheck the box that says "maintain aspect ratio" when resizing

Now take your water texture, and put 4 together in a squAre

I don't follow you...

If you had a still water texture like this:
For flowing water you'd put four copies of the still water texture together like this:

Unless you know your away around MCMETA files.

Try using another program other than Photoshop if you can't turn it into a square. It's the only way. Sorry.
1
I guess No one can help me??
1
Anyone?? Help??
1
Did you delete the water.png and lava.png MCMETA files?
1
When i did that the water turned into purple and black squares.
1
Now you have to get your texture into squares.
64x64
32x32
16x16
8x8
4x4
2x2
128x128
256x256
512x512
Try those resolutions.
64x64
32x32
16x16
8x8
4x4
2x2
128x128
256x256
512x512
Try those resolutions.

The Default water texture won't turn into a square it just keeps doing stuff like 4 by whatever number.
1
I used photoshop and i can turn it into a 2 by 64 but not a 2 by 2
1
Hmm. I've never used Photoshop, so I can't really help with that.
1
AHHHHHHHHHH OMG IMA DIE
1
Does it HAVE TO BE square??
1
Any parts of the texture that are going to be on a face of a block have to be square, yeah.

So what am i gonna do?

1Zera1craftykidszOmBiLoRdSize doesn't matter as long as it is a square.
This. Make sure that the water_still.png that's in your pack has the same width as height.
It won't allow me to turn the water_still.png into a 2 by 2 square... soo what do i do?
P.S.
It doesn't allow me to turn it into a square....
So you can turn it into a 256x8192 rectangle but not into a square? What did you use to make it 256x8192?
Also, it probably shouldn't be 2x2 pixels. That might be a little too small. But it doesn't really matter what the dimensions are as long as the width and height are the same.
1
Anybody know what to do??

Size doesn't matter as long as it is a square. If you have the proper amount of frames for the animation and it is spazzing then you probably made an error somewhere in the .mcmeta file. If you changed the amount of frames for the water image than the normal given amount then you will have to specify that in the .mcmeta file.
EDIT: if you have the proper amount of frames and didn't change it then I'm not sure what's wrong and you'll have to redo the image

I re sized it and it's still going crazy... :/
1
Make sure it is the size like 16x16, 32x32, 64x64, 8x8, etc.
1
I'm guessing you don't know about animated textures.
The lava and water textures are that shape because they're columns of frames for an animation. The .mcmeta files say that they're animations and how to animate them. If there aren't .mcmeta files and the texture isn't a square, it'll use that black-and-purple checkerboard pattern as the texture.
Resizing the textures so that they're squares and not including the .mcmeta files should fix it.

Maybe you should upload it to some free file hosting service.
