Hello everyone my name is Dinuity and thank you for noticing my post.

I've been trying to make my own Minecraft Resource Pack specifically to change and hopefully increase the way people PvP to get them better at it. And I've recently come into problems with re-designing the sword from 16x16 to 64x64

Here is the original 16x16 .png file

I need this to go into a 64x64 .png file. But I'm not sure on how to make the handle become 64x64 and look natural.

All help will be greatly apprichated

You've got it so far!
With making the handle, it's really just a bunch of trial and error. I had to do that with the 64x swords in my texture pack. If something didn't look right or didn't flow that great, i'd delete it and start again. That's really how texturing works lol.

Open up the 16x png with paint.net or photoshop, I'd just use paint.net because it's fast to load, click on the "image" tab at the top bar, then click "resize" from the drop-down. You can then set the dimensions of the image, in your case set it to 64px by 64px and tah-dah! You're done.
