what soft ware does everyone use to create texture packs I use paint and its rubbish also im on windows 8

as ghetto as it is, I actually use Game Maker 7's sprite editor for items. When it comes to the basic human models (zombie pigmen and zombies) I use SkinCraft. I don't know any easy ways to edit other mobs so I just use the sprite editor for them.

Windows 7 and Paint.net, but I am getting a "Big" amount of money on my b-day, so I will probably get the latest Photoshop, Sony Vegas, a good screen recorder and SG PC

Paint is perfect for minecraft skins.

Problem is, Paint does't have any way to represent no-color it uses white, so the hat area of the skin template will be all white
