How to make a skyblock server original?

So I own a server called squaresky (IP play.squareskyserver.com) I am currently updating it, we have always been skyblock and it fits the name of squaresky and a lot of my players don't want it to change from skyblock and we don't have the resources or the players to start a hub server, I need to try and make skyblock more exciting and keep them playing on the server even after creating an island, I currently have skywars, mob arena and a creative plot world for competitions, does anyone have any other suggestions on how I can keep people interested on the skyblock server?

Well,there are plugins which let you enchant,for instance sharpness 10
But i use crackshot to create my own weapons etc.You can make grenades etc..But you can also add custom crafting

Dont make it, boom. Very few people dont make Skyblock servers, so you will be original for not having one. Better yet, call it invisible Skyblock!

I know it is a dying gamemode but I still do have quite a few active players, I think if I could make it interesting in some way it could still attract people

Skyblock factions. Oh yeah, and if you have one, remove the Skyblock shop. That prevents all the Pay to Win people from being OP. Also, install something like the SlimeFun plugin to make things a hundred times more interesting. Then have a "Battles for the Sky" custom PvP game that is a combination of Skyblock, Skywars, and The Walls where teams and factions battle to the death.

Some good ideas, I probably wont remove the shop but will be looking into slimefun and making a custom pvp game, just worried it might be too similar to skywars

Also, an RTS means a Realtime Strategy Game, (so not one that has turns). Something like Age Of Empires, Starcraft II and similar games. IDk why it was suggested here.

first of all, consider MCMMO. It has a whole bunch of skillsets that make survival minecraft more interesting, and its a plugin meaning its completely server side.
Second, maybe try to give people the option to explore things called "sky dungeons" that are floating islands (considerably larger than skyblocks) that contain stuff like custom loot and whatnot, but you have to disable traps and fight mobs (all in adventure mode) while conquering it.

Yeah I have MCmmo, a lot of people recommended that to me, thanks for the sky dungeons thing that sounds really interesting, ill be sure to check it out

What about adding in a nether skyblock that can be accessed after doing certain things on the main skyblock?

Yeah I want to have nether but there is no plugin that makes it so the skyblock goes into the nether, you just get the normal nether world and I dont like that on skyblock
