Despite this post being around for a year people are still tricked by this. To reiterate: mods will never review servers or ask for OP on a server just because they're a mod.

I had one of them on a server, he got shouted at and perm-ban. Somebody said they had some griefer with the same name...

I remember when we got a hacking team online. When they found that they couldn't hack our server they resorted to spamming. It was a massacre, our custom anti-spam plugin banned them like playing Whack-A-Mole. I think it banned like 50 ppl that day it was awesome, our normal players were like cheering for the server and LOLing

Lol, I Dont mind them coming on my server, it changes up our day, and gives us a outlet to use our abilities...

Not to mention our players love it when we ban fags like that.

we had one named matt1441 over on ours. he played it cool, then i banned him and he cussed us al out in hamachi. i love our converation at that point.

after of course i used my pickaxe with the /lightning command bound to it on him a few times

Someone just came onto my server and Posing as a Official PMC Reviewer. His name was Xx_TechDude_xX. Before banning him for I knew he wasn't an official reviewer, My Friend and I trolled him a bit. Anyways, I just want to warn yall for he appeared to of logged off, but actually not. Even though it says he logged off, hes still there, It might not appear in the server list but he is still there. While he was there undetected he attempted to hack my computer. But failed miserably after he found that I have 4 Layers of protection.

Why not make an official PMC-ID So players should first ASK for the ID,look it up on PMC and see if it is VALID :3 (Make it long so people have to go wheeee for ages trying to find one)

Had one on a server I used to go on. So knowing he was a fraud I flew over him and followed him until he fell for the Honeypot diamond block not even 50 meters from spawn and got kicked... 30 seconds later he comes back and tried again to break the block. After getting kicked around 7 times he said in chat, " THIS PLACE *BLEEP*ing SUCKS!" and left the game. People try so hard sometimes.

Also they got the idea from a YouTube video by iCanHasGrief.

gmodiscool7 and LegacyP7, they did this to me awhile ago,, completely stabbed and turned the knife on my server,, but i will agree with earlier posts, there not hard to catch,,

I hanged the person who asked five times then banned him.

One time i was in a server a guy logged on and said im as plant mineecrft offic reviewerr i neeed opss to reviewsss (yes that's what he said)

The next message was (forgothisname) was killed by hero brine and then banned.

This is somewhat similar, this one guy was claiming to be official, and said something like, "I can find the time to review your server if you give me op" and Im like, "Why would I give you op lol?" and he said, "Well, fine, at least admin." (In my server, admins actually have MORE power than Ops) And I said why at all would I make you an admin?" Which he responded with, "Come on bro. I need it or I cant get wood." And now im like WTF? first he was, "official" and now he cant get wood without being admin...? and someone else in chat was like, "lol I smell a griefer here" and we just ignored him.

(you might want to note, that I was using good grammar, and he was all, "Comeon bro, i ned it or i cnt get wod!")

I had this happen a few weeks ago, but for another Minecraft website (I can't remember what it was called). Using plugins, Google, and a bit of internet know-how, I found out that:

1) He was using an anonymous proxy to connect to our server.
2) He was banned from 3 other forums for doing the same imposter scheme.
3) Backtrace results gave me his address and ISP location.

After blatantly confronting him, he gave in immediately and commented on how "sharp and smart" I was.

It's not hard to catch these guys, you just have to know what to look for.

Whoever these imposters are, turning in usernames won't work. If they are hackers such as 'Icahasgrief' they probably use alt accounts that were hacked from innocent minecrafters. One of the accounts they use [xiBenxx] was a guy I know well, so it could be anyone.

I read this.and was playing on a server when it happened, i had built a self destructing house, the host said he would give em op as soon as they checked somethings out, they came to my house, pressed the DO NOT TOUCH button, and died, never saw them again
