Hello all,

Qubic gaming is a Network dedicated to the players, with servers crafted with passion and love (and of course blocks). We have multiple unique game modes, including UHC Survival, a mini game based of the movie 'Mazerunner', and much more.

These mini games and unique game modes take time to develop however, but we still have something for you! We are releasing with a Skyblock, Factions, and Creative server, all with custom plugins to maximise your experience. Not only that, but you'll be able to play with some of your favourite youtubers regularly!

We have invested $100's into this server, to bring out the best of it. Each server has atleast 32GB RAM of powerful memory, on one of our beasts.

Server spec's incase your wondering on each machine:

Simply: 128GB RAM

Intel Xeon
2x E5-2650v2
16c/32t 2,6 GHz+/3,4 GHz+

128 GB DDR3 ECC 1600MHz

2x 2 TB SATA3

Not only will we have popular game modes and unique ideas, but also fun and friendly temporary partnerships with other servers/networks to bring out the best in the Network. Giveaways and much more will be frequent, so be sure to watch out for that.

We ensure a quality experience on any of our servers, to be ensured by our dedicated team of friendly staff, handpicked at their ripest moments.

We hope to release by December the 15th!

To be clear, the game loop is still single-threaded (thanks Mojang) but aspects that are heavy lifting (like reading in and writing out chunks) are multi-threaded under bukkit/spigot. So there's truth in all the answers.

Obviously the best is fast clock with multiple cores, but with the way most of the better-written mods are now they can take advantage of having multiple cores available for threads.

But enough about the technical stuff, the server is plenty beefy to support a large user base!

you got the wrong cpu, it's important to have fast cpus not many cpus

That CPU is old (Sandy Bridge), but on servers what matters most on server CPUs are many slow cores (server-side software is designed with many slow cores in mind, so that is the best choice).

Yes, what's up with that link?

*EDIT*: If you're talking about this reply:

bbjamesBack to the original topic of this post....The BEST CPU for a Minecraft server is gonna be the fastest CPU you can afford. Minecraft does not take advantage of multiple cores when running. JAVA will use other cores for garbage collection, MCMyadMin CAN use other cores for some functions and some plugins/mods may support as well. As far as the actual Minecraft Server though, only 1 core is used, so the faster your CPU, the better the game will perform. Now as fat as I7 or Xeon...simple, Xeon. BUT, thats if you are using a SEVER OS, like Windows Server 2008 or Centos 6.3 64-bit server, etc. as the XEON will improve performance of the OS as that is what it is designed for.

That is partially true: Minecraft actually takes advantage of 1 core (or at least it did back on 1.7.10 and below) but Spigot/Bukkit/Modded servers behave quite differently and take advantage of multiple cores.

it isn't that bad tho, you will run into a lot of problems with your storage, it is too slow, you need SSD not HDD, you will see people teleporting once you get up to 100-200 players your server will start freezing, unless of course your developers make it so the plugins only save when the server stops.

We know that, but SSD's don't come cheap - HDD's are fine for the player base we plan to have at release (10+) - as soon as we start to see any sign's of lag, problems with HDD's, or anything of the sort we will upgrade straight away.
