Good things:
+ Design isn't cluttered
+ Colours are all fairly different/distinct, no confusion as to what's what

Things that need work:
- Slightly noisy shading; not too hard on the eyes, though noisy shading doesn't give the skin very much shape (instead it looks flat and bulky)
- Flat colours; assuming a noise tool was used, the resulting colours will only vary in terms of brightness which leaves them feeling rather bland

I reckon a suitable first step would be to familiarise yourself with shading before you move on into colour! lemme know if you need some examples and so forth

Servicable basic skin; without knowing what you were trying to achieve it's not possible to tell how close you came…

The tops of the tongues of his shoes do appear to show through his pants, or at least that would be how I see that area....

Very basic shading, mostly used by beginners, which you are, but other than that, it's actually not bad! Not bad at all! :D
