81 Subscriber QnA + Uh What Foods Do You Guys Wantquestion_answer
I have 81 subscribers. And like people have people ask them questions when they have a lot of subscribers right? Yeah. That's a thing. Totally a thing.
But I also did this quiz thing a while back, asking my subscribers questions, and I thought I would react to that and also answer the questions I asked- or at least the ones I feel like answering anyway.
To start we have a fairly boring question, ‘vague geographic location’. Most of my subscribers are from the Americas it turns out, some of them are European, but yeah. Mostly from that corner of the world. I’m from Oceania myself, Australia specifically, as some of you may know. Which means that right now, it’s getting into autumn rather than spring. Fun Southern Hemisphere Facts.
But obviously, that was just a pretend question, because I know that all of you are just acting like you live on Earth when in reality you're chilling somewhere completely different. Some of you insisted that you really were from earth, but the rest of you were much more honest. For a general rundown we have: Hogwarts, The Darkness that Lurks in the Hearts of Man, The Moon (couldn't figure out which one they mean), The Portuguese Empire (which was on Earth), Pequod (the boat?), and uh somewhere in the Overworld.
Personally I have no name to put to where I am. I mean, I move a lot you see, and hop universes and dimensions... so I dunno. Current place looks like vaugely overworld-y.
About half of my subscribers identify as mortal, 30% of you are immortal, and the rest of you are dead. Personally I'm not alive in the typical sense, so I can't be dead in the typical sense... which I'm sure that is very infuriating to dinner-plate body hopper. Who seems to be working quite hard over there...
None of you are willing to stay out of the great end v nether battle, and the majority of you want to be on the side of the end. I mean one of you wants to be on both sides, which I suppose you want to be fire-proof, and be able to possibly befriend dragons. Double the awesome right?
And speaking of awesome, I asked for people to pick superpowers in various... I dunno scenarios?
First off, in our world! And nobody picked murder touch thankfully. Otherwise I would have to banish you to the Morally Sus chair. Murder is bad kids. Unless they like come back afterwards, and you knew they were going to come back afterwards. Then it just becomes a matter of whether or not you tortured/assaulted them- anyway that's off topic...
The most popular powers were teleportation and immortality, and only one person picked time manipulation even though that is the most OP power like ever.
But like grandfather paradox blah blah butterfly effect-
You don't have to back far enough in time for 'ooops my mum and dad might never get together now' or whatever. Go back an hour or something. Maybe a day. Time loop! I was vague, which means this includes everything from stopping time to fast forwarding and reversing it. Sure it's a brainy power, I'm a nerd. Deal with it.
Okay moving on, three of you like picked powers that while they are murder-y are a bit sus. Potentially. Shapeshifting, is pretty mild. I'm sure spies would kill to have that, but like I mean making yourself look different while useful for a criminal or a secret agent ain't like crazy. Perception manipulation on the other hand. That's in-mind illusions. That is Mind Control under a different name. Sus. Also pain manipulation, which while you could numb pain, I mean you could also amplify it. Slightly sus.
I mean sure. With time manipulation I could probably find a way to singlehandedly wipe out the human species, but the people don't know that. So eh.
Moving on! Second category was if you lived in a world where everyone had superpowers, what power would you choose? People seemed to have seen sense in this one, because more then one of you picked time freezing/slowing (the options were slightly different on this one then on the other one) but everyone else picked something different. But nobody picked 'giving other people superpowers' I mean come on, I want to be that person! Don't you want to be that person?
Third category, this one is the really interesting one. In a world where everyone had superpowers, what superpower do you think you would get? Most people said either, Dream Manipulation, Power Imitation... and Corroding Touch. I mean it's not murder touch. But guys? Why do you think your core is like destruction? Or do you think the universe would curse you to only cause destruction? Because either way that's really angsty.
I think I would get Thought Manipulation aka. Partial Mind Control but I mean seriously.
And all the questions after that are boring. Well I will tell you that I don't have caffeine like ever, because making tea is just too much fuss and coffee sounds like a Dangerous Idea for me. Also, my next character design jam should be Urban Fantasy themed clearly, since you know, you all seem to want to live there.

Uhhhh NOT A CREATIVE PROJECT? Well I guess I like walking. Hiking in reserves and stuff, I like birds but that's no surprise. I'm Australian half of the birds I see are cockatoos, which are parrots. Smart, AND adorable. Also just like wildlife in general.

Use the word girl to describe me again, and I'm going to identify as non-binary just to avoid that happening ever again. *shivers in visceral dislike* but anyway... I used too, but I dropped it, which is fine because I kept up that hobby through all the years I don't remember to well- so I now have something to remember them by.

I like fish too, but I don't like the super fishy taste that you can sometimes get with fish-based things. And I'm sure in theory I could include all of those things on the menu, don't know how Meat Man feels about fish though.

Let me just step in and talk about bread as well.
So mountain bread, also known in french as Pain de Montagne, seems like from my search a traditionally french bread, so it's not a brand per say more like one of those things that can be found in any bakery or supermarket in said country.
As for that other pre-sliced white bread that you can see in plastic bags and that pretty much is bread "light", well it can come under many different names and most of those are brands, here in portugal we call it "Pão Rico" or well direct translation Rich Bread, cause it's richer in stuff like eggs, milk and oil, but it's also less healthy and doesn't go well with everything, and yes that is what we call it, even though it comes under many brands, like Bimbo, Panrico, and your usual supermarket brands... I myself don't enjoy it that much, but it's sublime if toasted with some cheese, spices, eggs, or even meats. Also simply toasted with butter goes quite nicely with tea.
Now as for the greatest bread in the world (totally not biased trust me I know 100% not fake XD), it's gotta be either "Pão da Avó" Grandma's Bread... yes that is it's name, it's less dense than other breads and tastes amazing even just by itself, and then we've also got "Pão de Água" Water Bread... less salty and chewy but it's a good alternative and easier to bake.
Finally... Eloise this one's for you... do not get between an european and their bread, we can't live without having a new loaf for each day of the week. XD

I like flat bread, proper fresh flat bread, can stand some brands of packet bread as long as it's fresh, and I don't like sour dough, wonder bread, or any packet wrap because they all taste WEIRD. Not like bread.

If you were to combine 2 types of genres into 1 world to make something new and unique what would they be?

Probably Bolognese, more specifically Bolognese prepared with Tagliatelle and not Spaghetti. But I also really like Chili, and some other foods which I forgot the name's of, in ye old english.

If it were me, I'd combine Sumberged World Fiction with High Fantasy, and with it make an underwater focused world, crawling with abnormal creatures, our deep oceans are already alien to us so sprinkle in some high fantasy potential and voila, it also probably would encompass stuff like magitech but that ain't a genre by itself so it's completely fine.

Number 1- Spiral pasta... gotta hand it to you, that's an amazing pasta and one that goes well with almost everything, also it's called Fusilli, just mentioning this in the case you visit Itally and want to order it. XD
Number 2- Low fantasy into High fantasy, I actually have read only 1 story like that, it was for a reddit writers contest, and the author made it so when humanity finally got away from the solar system they found out that magic existed beyond it, and there were other species that used it, turns out our sun was blocking out magic for some weird reason. and well it showed some potential, so I imagine a lot of stories could be made with the general low to high fantasy concept.
Number 3- I'm flattered that I can fool some into thinking I'm a native english speaker sometimes. For someone with an interest in foreign languages it's a kin to a compliment. XD

I mean to be fair, if I'm in Italy I'm sure I'm gonna just want any pasta. Since you know- I mean if anywhere is going to beat the baseline greatness that is pasta, it's going to be Italy right?
And oh I was thinking like some character visiting a low-fantasy dreamscape or something, and they think that's reality not the high-fantasy world which is the actual world- but maybe that's just like a me thing.
I mean you defiantly speak it waaaay better then some people who have been raised speaking it. Also why the hell are you awake.

I do like that dreamscape is the actual world idea, it's been done before with stuff like main character finds out that the paranormal exists (example: Supernatural) and then there's stuff like hidden magic co-existing with the normal world hidden from most of the people's sight, personally my favourite way of doing this is with lost knowledge, magic existed, we somehow forgot how to use it, but traces still linger to the attentive person to find, leading then into the rabbit hole of high fantasy.

Again thank you for the compliment! I've always tried my best to learn a given language properly, and I think that's something seen less and less nowadays, be it in english, french, spanish, etc... We stop using certain words over time, some forgotten, others just set to the side, replaced or shortened, and that's not to say it is a bad thing, but it can become a problem when it comes down to learning or teaching. My current best example of this is the word Myriad, it's got a lot of uses, it can be both used as an adjective or a noun, but everytime I use it, be it in Portuguese or English I always get asked, "Myriad? What's that?"
Finally the answer you've been waiting for! Why the hell am I awake? I flipped my sleep schedule again... XD Plus today's been a weird day, spent most of it asleep to avoid being bored, due to a country wide blackout, both Portugal and Spain lost power from 11:30 to in the case of my city 22:00, the worst part is no one still knows exactly why. So in short, I can't sleep because I spent all day sleeping to avoid being bored during a blackout.

I'm ehhhh on the magic existed and we forgot about it idea, mostly because people aren't that stupid? Like stupid, but not THAT stupid. So it's a bit of a bullet to bite in terms to worldbuilding.

I do know about tacos, and I like them. They are kinda annoying to make though, because you have to have all the ingredients to make 'em where as chilli con carne is just easy to serve with rice and sour cream.
