I was playing on my server today, then it crashed. This is not out of the ordinary, because i use a fairly weak computer to host.
But as i check the crash report, i notcied "stop" would not work, and neither would killing the proccess in terminal.
I went to check the SMART data, and found there was 1 pending sector to be remapped. This made the 68 GB partition completely unreadable, but detectable. I noticed that the other partition was freely accessible.
Is there any possible way to locate this sector and attempt to write to it?
Note:
I run on Ubuntu 13.10, so i don't want mac or windows solutions to this.
Also, this drive is NOT failing as all other partitions can be accessed.

EDIT: i can NOT afford to format the partition.

To remap the sector you may have to do a low level format. To re align all the sectors tracks ect.. This will take time and erase your drive.

There is a difference between low and standard formats...
