Code to place blocks with metadata with Minecraft 1.8 | Can

Hi,
I'm updating my Instant Structures Mod to Minecraft 1.8. But I do not know how the code with which one applies a block with metadata is.
The old one was "world.setBlockMetadataWithNotify(x, y, z, 3, 0);
I tried "world.setBlockState(tmpPos, Blocks.planks.getDefaultState(), 3);" but it didn't work.

I used to know, so much about forge modding (is this forge?), but I got frustrated because I couldn't get it to work.
