Collective nouns for MC mobs [a gaggle of geese and so forth…]
Occassioned by a comment from Panda_Tyger (q.v. https://www.planetminecraft.com/forums/pmc/discussion/one-enderman-several-690884//comment/3972282/#reply_3972282 )
One list of these has been publoished 'elsewhere'.
Many are simple imports from 'The Real World' [the real real world, not the MTV versions] e.g. flock of sheep, coven of witches,
but,
there ought be some particularly 'minecrafty' terms…
either as alternatives to those extant for IRL mobs, or for those mobs peculiar to MC. e.g.
A blast of creepers
A squish of slime

Cavalry for skeleton horsemen, tribe for piglin/brutes, crew for drowned zombies, remove wandering traders and dragons since they're always alone, herd for hoglins, murder for phantoms
Then a raid of pillagers would be pretty obvious
Blaze: Bonfire
Breeze: Project
Strider: March
Zombie: Swarm, hoard, invasion
Villager: Group
Illagers: EVIL group
Golems: Collection
Shulker: Cast
Ravager: Brutality
Silverfish/Endermites: Scourge
Fang Demons: Contest
Creaking: Dread

EVIL group 🔥🔥🔥
Fang Demons? Mod?
I felt like it was a cooler name than "evoker fangs" lol
True (I'd not thought of that as a mob, but it sort of fits…)
Well technically it isn't, but they do spawn in groups... also they are super cool, i love spawning them with commands
I started reading this cuz I thought that said I gaggle of cheese
Looks like I was wrong lol-

Feel free to join in, we don't ask how you made it to the party…
Couple more proposals I thought up:
A Devestation of Whithers
A Shriek of Ghasts
A Desication of Husks
A Slog of Bogged
A Rampage of Ravagers
A Race of Chicken Jockies
A Posting of Guardians

A Clamp of Shulkers
A Torch of Blazes
A Waft of Sniffers
A Torch of Blazes
A Waft of Sniffers
Waft of Sniffers is spot on
Not 'getting' Clamp for shulkers, what's the hook (logic or joke)?

I came up with Clamp due to how the Shulker close, like they clamp down.
A graveyard or wake of skeletons/zombies?
A flurry of allays.
A jinx of vexs.
Maybe?

Maybe?
A conflagration of blaze perhaps?

a few official sources (most notably, minecraft story mode) have suggested the term 'haunting' for a group of endermen, but apparently (according to the wiki), one of the books calls them 'an end' of enderman.
at minecraft live, one of the devs calls a group of creakings 'a crunch'. probably as a joke, but i don't think mojang has given any other statement regarding this.

I'm partial to a voop of endermen…
For creakings, maybe a collapse (what happens to a structure when it has too many creakings).

*voops away*
maybe a wilt of creakings, since they kinda look decayed-ish
Like the wilted from that one mod i completely forgot the name?
yeah
How about plague of creakings, since it seems to alter vegetation in a symbiotic way. Maybe the pale moss itself is the source of the creakings, and acts as a parasitic mycelium for the hearts to communicate with? My theory: the moss is the pale garden's neural system, the eyeblossoms are daylight sensors that alert the hearts when to activate so that the creakings know when to hunt safe from daylight.

let me think...
Me too…

i was thinking about phantoms
maybe it could be something like how a collection of crows is a murder of crows, maybe it could be osmething kinda edgy like that

Gang comes to mind, but that makes more sense with my personal name for the mob Mojang Orbiting Bed Bully [MobB]
A stoop might be used in reference to the attack pattern, or a bunkroom (or nap) in reference to their driving players to bed…

maybe like a screech of phantoms? since they scream really loudly at you but bunkrook sounds pretty funny too
