Hey all,
So basicly when I go to a PMC page, I sometimes get a (very suspicious) message saying that I need to update my java. It thereby forwards me to a site with an "update Java' button.
I of course don't trust this (it looks fake, Java doesn't do it this way, PMC loads fine other times and my Java is fully updated). But I was wondering if there's a way to get rid of it (it probably has something with the advertisements on PMC).
If this isn't the 'fault' of PMC advertisement, I guess something is wrong with my pc. However, it only happens on PMC, not on other sites.
Thanks for reading,

I installed adblock and it's solved... but I'm one of those few people who actually wants to see the harmless advertisements to support the developers/youtubers/etc...

This is not adware for those saying it could be. its an ad on the site which we dont have control of, if you get redirected, copy the url of the site your directed to and pm either a site mod or paril about it (best bet is site mod)

Adblock Plus is the program you use to stop these ads, its a browser extension for firefox/chrome

It could be adware.

MalwareBytes will probably remove all malicious popups installed on your system. (it's free)

I use Chrome and it used to happen to me all of the time. I downloaded a browser extension and blocked the website.

If you'd need an update then java usually tells you

I know... but I just want to get rid of PMC forwarding me to this fake update site every 5 minutes... It's really annoying

I had the same. So I tried a game that runs on Java and it said I needed to update my Java, so I did and it wasn't fake this time. Don't download it!! You never know what it is
