i remember back in 2019, 9th grade, i was reported to the principals office for "gang involvement", i mean, she aint wrong that i was a thug back then, that was cringy looking at it now, but she said that i got decent grades, but need to change my behaviour
got me thinking if yall have a classmate who's smart (as in genuinely academic smart), but also involved in gangs and thugs

The two are hardly mutally exclusive…
One of the reasons the Romans built so much is because giving troops something to do was seen as a good way reduce the troubles that boredom & free time generated. [Note that this works much, much better if the task is meaningful – rather than the iconic digging of holes and filling them up again.]
Now consider the effect of 35+ hours a week of mandated screaming boredom on bright but unchallenged people (even without factoring in adolescent hormones).
