It works.
i found a mod that kept on sticking to the minecraft.jar.
i found the file and it worked.
i have no idea why it was sticking to it but it worked

i play on a toshiba laptop i get about 30-60 fps on far render distance with everything up and 128x128 texture packs

The problem is that your running a older version of the mac, that isn't compadible with the new minecraft Lighting system, you will require OpenGL 1.3, which isn't on macs. So either wait for 1.9 or be lazy like me and play a different game while you wait. There has been patches for this though, im just too lazy to install it.

Delete everything in the bin folder, than go to minecraft, than force update and should work msg me back if it doesnt work

Open up your finder and go into library. Inside there should be a folder called Application Support. Go in thar and find the Minecraft folder. Delete that and run Minecraft again. If that doesn't work try and update Java.

LIES! I have a dell laptop and a mac desktop and my laptop gets 10 FPS on minimal settings on my mac I get 120 maxed out settings

Actually, I have a Dell, and on Yogbox I don't even need the recommended thing for it, and my Minecraft actually runs SUPER fast on my Dell.

Money is better spent on a mac than a dell. I do like Windows more though, so I just get an OS thing that I forget the name of...

Try reinstalling Java. If you are running Minecraft on a 64-bit Mac using a 32-bit Java client then try upgrading Java to a 64-bit one.

Hey Sythan, one of the reasons you might have a black screen is because META-INF still is in your bin. If you have any mods installed, this is likely the case. If not, try it anyway.
Being a mac user, we're on the same level here .
Library/ApplicationSupport/minecraft/bin/minecraft.jar
From there, search META-INF. Search in minecraft.jar however, not in minecraft as this will not work. Alright, good?

Um, I literally deleted everything minecraft on the computer, then downloaded it again and it still doesn't work D:

Delete your .jar, .minecraft they are found in roaming or %appdata% I don't know if that works for mac though but try and find them anyway they will be there.
