I need some fresh Ideas - Make Minecraft Harder
Alright guys, I'm making a new mod and it's almost done, but I just wanna try to cover as many bases as possible.
So my question for you is this...
Can you think of any ways to make Minecraft more difficult?

each tend night you do not sleep (does not reset when u sleep) the mobs do 1 half hert more damage
if a spider and skeleton are at least 5 blocks near each other they become spider jockeys
same with baby zombie and chickens
a ghost version of a mob that can phase trough walls will only spawn from a dead you
quicksand (litteral)

zombie villages more common
normal villages will always spawn on a hill
thieves
phantom nether accesabble (phantom nether is the nether with a portal block in the end results will be weird in there)
blood moon all mobs will turn into zombie versions exept villagers
wolf moon all villagers turn into werewolfes (zombie villagers turn into zombie werwolfes)

The restlessness is sleepiness nights are already in the mod 😉

I'm digging the idea of werewolves and bloodmoons, the ghost mobs might be doable because there is a mob that does that naturally in the game that I can copy code from.

Specific Armor
Like Iron Breaks quicker in the arctic
And polar bears drop fur which protects you from hypothermia in the arctic
And Hay Bales make hats which protect you from the sun in deserts which would cause Cancer (poison 2)

Meiosis Bosses
Like slimes they divide into smaller bosses when killed

Meiosis Bosses is definitely something that will be added, in fact there's already some Meiosis mobs in the mod currently and more to come 😉

Camo Mobs. Mobs that blend in with the environment. Sorta like silverfish.
Imagine you will a scenario where you find a clump of obsidian. Taking your trusty diamond pick you start to mine, and whoops that wasn't an ordinary piece of obsidian, that was the enderman himself!

An interesting concept, I would consider it, maybe what I could do is biome specific creepers, like desert creeper is beige colored instead of green. etc

Baby creepers. Same explosion size as a normal creeper, same speed as a baby zombie.

I would love to do baby versions of mobs, but it's easier said than done. Definitely will be looking into this

Perhaps, basically I would have to write a new entity class and then either take the model for a creeper and resize it somehow or draw an entirely new model, or part pick from an existing model like the creeper to make the creer. I'm gonna try forsure

I have another idea: some cows can randomly explode. It would have to be like a 1 in 50 or 1 in 100 chance that the cow can explode, and a 1 in 10,000 chance that it will do so at any given moment. No warning, just an explosion and it's gone, leaving nothing but a crater.
Optional: cheesy death message if the cow's explosion kills you: [player] was moomed

Lmao, I do have all mobs set to explode at a 1-5 chance, the cow idea is pretty funny

All creepers become charged when you get close

I like it, I think I will make it a percentage to where maybe every 1-5 creepers become charged

Maybe like also a small chance that any charged creeper can wield lightning? I dunno.

Could be interesting, might give some mobs ability to attack with lightning, maybe a chance that some skeletons spawn that shoot, poison, lightning, fire, blindness arrows

what about torches and other light giving items going out after a while and having to turn them on again with a flint and steel after some time, (ofcorse excluding glowstone, sea lanterns etc.)

why lanternsa also use fire maybe make them immume to the rain burnout

This one is definitely going to be in the works, I think that it will make survival much harder especially when mining.

If you've worked in the blink effect, add something that has a chance of happening every time you blink.

New cave sounds that sound like a player is in your world. Examples: Strip mining getting gradually louder, Nether portals that aren't there, sounds of furnaces crackling. You can even generate torches along caves and remove ores around them. The path of torches can end with what looks like a creeper explosion, or a few monsters.

Animals take more food to breed, and take longer to give birth
Chickens can't be breeded by using seeds, but they may still be fed them in order to grow and lure
Zombies have a chance to drop poisonous potatoes instead of potatoes
Zombies drop iron nuggets instead of iron ingots
Poisonous potatoes are more common when harvesting
Poisonous carrots?
Tamed Wolves, Iron Golems, and Snowmen attack creepers
Wolves only attack creepers if the owner hits a creeper
Blindness effect makes the screen black instead of what it does currently
Clocks and compasses sometimes get stuck?
Some skeletons can spawn without bows, forcing them to melee attack instead

A few suggestions:
Skeletons should be able to see through glass blocks (currently they cant)
and then they should be able to break the glass by shooting it.
Skeletons can attack villagers
Monsters run from creepers that are about to explode
Some zombified piglins are randomly aggressive towards you
Creeper Jockeys - Skeletons riding creepers

If you get killed by a zombie another one will spawn where you died and will be the "zombiefied" version of you and it should also have your gear and inventory

Random meteor showers might be really cool. I could try to add it in during a "full moon" or something.

You could add a harder difficulty, in which mobs get additional attacks. Maybe a spider shoots cobwebs at you, creeper explosions do more damage, zombies occasionally run etc. There was a mod like this, it added an impossible difficultly (I think).

The mod i wrote already has alot of that kinda. Mobs are faster, healthier and more deadly. I don't have the spiders spitting cob webs thing but I think I know what your talking about.
Technically the mod locks the game in a 4th difficulty called "Nightmare Mode"

5. villagers are able to harm you if you hurt them or take something before gaining trust from the village
6. hail, you know how you have snow instead of rain for the ice biome, so why not have hail for thunderstorms
