I voted PMC even though i`m new here, i can already tell that there is almost 0 toxicity here and i`m really keen to that. A lot of the same minded people in one place, that's being social right?! :)
Also i use steam and discord but i`m not sure if u can classify that as a social media.

I use PMC for sharing ideas, and making new friends and such, because i only really use facebook for messaging friends and family.

Yeah

Yes, PMC definitely counts as social media. You are interacting with users from around the world after all.
I've typically used social media sites like Facebook, Instagram and YouTube for years but Reddit is one platform that I've only started visiting daily as of last year. The content there is just limitless... there's pretty much a sub-reddit for anything and everything you can think of.

For all my life, I never bothered to go onto any popular social media site like Facebook and such because they always felt so cheap to me. I would much rather make real friends in real life rather than ones I met online. Heck, with the extreme popularity of these sites, it makes me want to stray away from them because I'm more of an outsider than someone who'd gladly sit in a chair and get fed by an algorithm that would feed you content based on personal information you have on your profile.
When one of my Minecraft friends showed me what PMC was, I didn't expect much of it. I thought I was going to quickly be disinterested because it was a temporary place I could place my thoughts and feelings on, but boy was I wrong! This site turned out to be an amazing place to spark my creativity on without being judged for it. Sure, sites like DeviantArt can be like this too, but it's infamous bombardment of "crappy" drawings made by kids kind of threw me away from it. With the addition of wall posts, it made me fall in love with the site even more because I could share my honest thoughts without having to deal with nasty absent-minded people. This site in a way reminds me of the old 2005-2011 YouTube, where anyone can be loved just by making good original content. If a site like PMC could surpass something that I've loved during my childhood, that says a lot about how great this place is.
What's more, the community here is filled with the kindest, friendliest, and most mature of people, just wanting to get their creative thoughts out there. Not one person has ever been nasty or toxic like those you'd see on Twitter or Facebook (Maybe I'd get the occasional "This is Planet Minecraft" comments, but that doesn't bother me because I'd feel comfortable explaining to them that it's more than just Minecraft now). Like Dinow says, the moderators and administrators, heck, even the site owner is active and always there to reach a hand if anyone's having issues with the site. A lot of sites have either toxic/ignorant or inactive versions of these higher-ups, but this one flips that stereotype around and makes you think twice about it. If there's an issue/bug with a new/old feature, they fix that right up like nothing happened. They make the site look nice and convenient without having to resort to the most popular site layout (I'm looking at you, Cartoon Network. even though it's not a social media website). They fuse flatness in a way that makes it work and not to the point of blinding annoyance. What's more, they put trouble-making members right in their place like what a good moderator/whatever should do.
In conclusion, I've always loved this site, and even when I'm in my 30s and onward, I'm still going to use PMC due to it's friendliness, convienence, constant creativity, and caring attitude towards the site and it's members. Keep on mining, PMC. Keep on mining. <3

I think PMC could be considered a form of social media, but not in the traditional sense, as Stubbs1 suggested it's more a "Creative Sharing Media". I have Facebook, Twitter and a YouTube Channel, but I think I use Twitter more than any of them. I'm struggling with Facebook at the moment because I'm struggling to interpret any messages I get (I have Aspergers).
3
Yeah facebook is having problems right now
3
It's a forum and a place to share stuff, creations, and thoughts. While I know myself that I use it in a different way compared to the way I use my Facebook, I still consider PMC to be a social media, but I like to sugar coat it as a: Creative Sharing Media :D

What about Snapchat?
1
isn't that more of a chat thing? like discord?
2
You still can post pictures to your story and chat. It's not like Discord because there's not specific channels.
2
ok :I
1
You would understand if you used it. It's hard to explain.
3
'tis a social media....and the only one i use, unless you count Youtube...

Question what about Youtube, who thinks that is a Social Media?
1
I never thought YouTube was a social media platform, but more of a video sharing service. If it was one, it would have to have wall posts and other such ingredients to make it like Facebook/Twitter. Sure, it has a semi-toxic community, a constantly-changing layout, and allows users to post videos to "interact" with their fans, but does that really make it a social media site?

pmc is a social network. . . . . . . . . . . . . . for MINECRAFTERS!

PMC surely has grown to be a social media site next to the content sharing/fan site it started out to be. And a great one at that too, in my opinion. I've used Facebook, Instagram, also tried Twitter, but I just ended up finding them quite unsatisfying; depressing even.
What I love about PMC is that this site has never been about money making. On the contrary, PMC has been trying to avoid any business to be done on this site. People come here for the content, for sharing creativity, sharing their common interest, which is what makes it so lovely.
+ You are more motivated to create content rather than just consume it, which is a good thing for sure.
There's not as much motivation (nor need) for PMC to invent ways of keeping people addicted to their site, spamming in-your-face advertisements or filtering content to keep you engaged. It feels like such an honest, fair and safe place. Also because there is no reason for the site to be collecting your personal information in order to profile you and sell you stuff, that's something I gravely dislike about those gigantic social media platforms. PMC's site owners, admins and moderators are very approachable too which gives a sense of security as well. :D
People here aren't liked for how pretty their face is, or how expensive their car is here, but rather for the quality of their content and how helpful they are to others. Gladly ditch Facebook and Instagram for that. 😊
👏 Well done PMC! Please stay awesome. 😊
