Alright, So we all know the majority of this site is children under 16. I have no problem with kids being here but I do have an issue with having to dumb down the things I can discuss or the ways I can speak to other adults here.
I think we should have a board that is an 18+ Rated board that will allow the use of language not suitable for minors, political discussion and the sharing of opinions on movies, games or other matieral that may not be suitable for kids.
This is NOT a board for things like pornography, but more of a place where people who are older can chill and talk without the need to be constantly looking over their shoulder trying not to get in to trouble. Now, People under 18 will obviously still go in there, but as long as its labled as a lounge for the older members, the community admins will then not be responsible if they get complaints from parents because that area is specially designated for such things.
The younger members get the benefit of stricter moderation, why not give the older members a place where they can just act themselves.
This is kind of like Pleasure Island at Disney World
Seriously though, consider it, I think its a good idea. Hell, I would love to have a place I can actually discuss women on without getting crap from an admin for posting pictures of a model in sexy clothing

I support this idea. Admins. Please look into and possibly think about it. There would have to be like, no nudity or something like that(if the younger ones get on the threads their not suppose to.) but, i would definitely support this!!!!!

I think the Mods or Admins should stop all the stupid Forum posts, the ones that involve nothing but crap, means nothing etc. They really annoy me! A adult 18+ place would be wayyy better for me, I'm 13 but I'm a lot more mature then most of the kids on this site..
Example- 'Whats the point of voxelsniper?' Whats the fricken point of that forum post? Look it up on the fricken internet, or on the Mods part of any Minecraft site, you should find something!

I think this idea defies what PMC stands for. If you want 18+ content, I'd find another site.

Well what do you mean adult content? We don't want to add anything inappropriate into the 18+ Lounge even if there will be one. Basically what we are getting at here is this just to basically be a swear-free lounge for no parents to fuss over what their children are seeing on the the regular forums.

I don't think this is a good idea. I really don't think people need to discuss politics on Planet Minecraft. Maybe if something new was added to the Everything Else section this could work.

The point of the forums is so I can meet with people who share a common interest (In this case Minecraft) and also discuss other thing with them. So you are correct, i would be more interesting with this here. All these haters probably just get the "Not untill your 18" talk at home by their parents and are deciding to relive their stress here.

or on the off chance this idea gets off the ground, they could create a board with a post requirement as well as a zero tolerance of nudity rule on people with picture posting privileges. Most boards I am on don't even let people post pics or html links until 50 posts in, it kind of stops the 12 year-old's and trolls from creating a dump account and spamming the board with crap.

i have a better idea what about a 16+ team speak channel this will stop most trolls and young people coming on because people on it will know how old they are from their voice. i am only 13 but i consider my self mature and responsible

It is called sarcasm, but truth be told the potential for kids to ether troll or take advantage of an 18+ section is so high it is astronomical. There is no way to police it. or even verify that the members going into said section are in the required age groups. also the potential for legal flak is there as well, in some states distribution of just pornography (and don't tell me that a 18+ board would not descend into such things) to minors is illegal, and distributing or displaying it can be a serious offense. Just thinking of the legal and not to mention moral decision the site admins would have to take into account is a mind boggling matter.
Just my initial thoughts on the matter. now can we drop the 18+ idea and get back to building things with blocks, and leave the 18+ to 4chan.

Ive been asleep for the past 8 hours, i come back to find people be hating. Why hate so much, this is probably the best idea i've heard for this place. If you don't like it, have fun talking to the trolls. I ike pmc, but the forums have been getting boring, with the same old crap. People claiming they've seen herobrine and noobs asking stupid questions. I like this idea so much because to me it represents something worth staying for.
Speaking of asking stupid questions, the number of people on the topic saying "loads of under 18's will join". Seeing as about 5 different people have stated a number of times that under 18's will probably be able to join, providing they're not stupid and don't complain about mature stuff, and if they do they'll be reported to a band of moderators, simple.

I'm pretty sure that 8 year olds don't even play minecraft. I'm 16 and I learned to ignore trolls (aka kids). Even if they disliked my projects I don't really care. They suck anyways .
