Hi folks,
I've only made a single forum post some 13 years ago when I my son got me into playing this to help in with his map.
Both my son & I had long played WoW & Minecraft but over the years, I've more or less "retired" from WoW but continued to dabble when I can with the Minecraft map.
Also in that time, my son went through high school & is now doing his PhD & although still plays WoW on occasion, no longer plays minecraft. We no longer live at the same place so although I've thought of creating a realm for the map, he doesn't have time.

The map itself started over quite small, all around spawn point with some LoTR themed building using mined materials.
I eventually discovered creative mode & as versions have progressed, I've continued to build bigger & some what obsessively, all using manual methods & now map editors.
Although I admit I have been experimenting with selective use of FILL & FILLBIOME commands, the vast majority of my work remains manual block editing.
I know I could do the work a lot faster using editors but as an Engineer of 40+ years experience, I've treated this like a hand crafted environment.
I've watched many a video of people copying & pasting detailed items & although still impressive, I prefer the "hand crafted" method, very much like someone hand carving a statue.

I've kept my map updated over the years & post updates when I feel I've made decent progress.
Everything that's ever been built has been left in place, right from the early days at spawn central but most of the development centres around the Moria & Ironforge complex.
It's not massive by any scale but I've been told it's fairly impressive for a hand built world so take a look & see what you think.

I might be able to get you into a LOTR build project if you're interested. Map looks cool btw.
