My Minecraft sound is broken!

I have a problem with Minecraft. The sound is broken, and I suspect it is because the resources folder is empty. I've tried deleting the .minecraft folder then re-downloading, but it is still empty! Help! (Yes, my sound and music settings are at 100% =P)
*EDIT* Hmm, used to be empty, now all it has is the ambient cave sounds.

So it will overwrite the files with the same name to the actual audio file? How do I put blank files in it?

hmmm.... just put the file names in it... i can put the files names and what folder you need to put em in then if you force update it should work :3 i think thats how you fix it.. XD
