POV: You have to choose between a piece of lettuce with eyes that doesnt like the dark, a blue friendly kleptomaniac vex, and a copper robot that presses buttons.

i think that the glaire will be usefull when u need to build a mob farm
I don t quite understant will the alley give u the item back plus some. Cuz it seems to me the alley is a dupe maschine lol
And the copper golem will be usefull beeing a statue or chunk loading .

- Yes, it'll be useful when building a mob farm, true.
- It has been confirmed that the Allay will NOT duplicate items, it will just look for similar items on the ground.
- I'm not quite sure what the golem will even do other than pressing buttons.

The allay will be great for auto farms, here is how
- It sees the dropped farm items on the ground from water
- When an observer notices items being picked up, it sends a signal
- That signal will go to noteblocks, attracting the Allay
- You will be at the noteblocks, and it will drop the items on you.
- You could have a hopper below you, linking into a chain, to go to a chest.

the one issue is that observers only detect blocks, not entities, but i feel like due to their design, the allay could go through walls like the vex which means that they could collect items from another room for you.

probably, definately seems like a close relative to the vex possibly a cousin or something lol wouldn't make much sense if it couldn't.

Not only this but it would be epic for Datapack creators to make pathfinding mobs

Confused between Copper Golem and Allay.
Copper golem doesn't really have much use as far we know except pressing random buttons, but it kinda adds a use to that oh-so-common copper we can't stop running into.
The Allay could potentially be very interesting if done right, but ever since the Phantom and Bees, I don't trust Mojang to do things right.
Both seem like they're out of a mod tho tbh.

Phantoms and bees are good mobs, and if new things feel like mods then doesn't everything coming out of these updates feel like a mod? Wile Mojang isn't that good when it comes to actually doing things, what does end up in the game is actually good.
As for the mobs themselves the copper golem would be a use for copper, but it feels redundant, the allay has the most meat to it, It actually does useful things for you.
Overall, Mojang please stop it with the mob and biome votes and do something else that actually gets the community involved, if you come up with ideas you think fit the game, just put them in, everyone is happy that way.

Phantoms are good mobs? Sir, no offense, but you probably have never played survival mode before.

I have actually, and they have never caused me any issues before. They have badass designs are good in gameplay. If you don't want them spawning, s l e e p. It is literally a few seconds and a click of a button. They are only disliked because they are "new", if creepers were a recent mob everybody would probably say they ruin the game. Anyways I'm sorry one hit you off your tower at night when you should have just slept through it in the first place.

also yeah everyone would hate creepers. Hell I still do you're just mining or walking and suprise mother fricker and you're dead.

yea in my hardcore I rarely ever sleep. Cause im usually out hunting creepers for gunpowder for fireworks. The phantoms do get annoying af tho but suprisingly I just deal with them and move on without needing to sleep (unless they really piss me off, which has happened lol)

Yes, they might be good by your preferences, but they could have been so much better. I agree that most new things do seem like something out of a mod, so maybe that part was kind of biased... I still think the copper golem seems like exactly what a modder would add :P
Based on the information we have about the Allay, I don't really see how we know for sure that it will even be useful. I seriously doubt it'll duplicate anything, so in my opinion it'll just be useful for collecting things from a large area as an alternative to large minecart-hopper systems (which does make it useful, but not so very useful)

I still think the allay is the best option. It wasn't as good as I had thought it was at first, but it's still pretty useful. The glare isn't really useful for most people can tell where hostile mobs can spawn and the copper golem is just for people who like redstone which isn't me so I would go for the allay.

Yeah... the allay is probably going to be useful.
It will be useful for collection systems, no more giant hopper-minecart tracks hidden under your auto-farms. I feel it doesn't fit with vanilla though, so I'm voting the golem.

I mean the golem doesn't seem to go with vanilla either. Imo it seems like the one that is most likely to be from a mod. I mean all of them could be but I think the copper golem seems the most like it.

the allay actually seems less useful, onece you know all the information. They will only pick up other similar items on the ground nearby, not duplicate or mine or collect them.

Well put. I think the Allay has a better chance of at least being useful, so it's earned my vote (for now). I think all of us are united by a common dislike of the glare, however...

The copper golem will be able to be deoxodized with an axe just like the blocks, and may have connections to archaeology in the future (remember, this is all coming straight from the devs)

what is so interesting about deoxidizing. I mean the concept is cool but I wouldn't vote for something like that. I also don't see how the archaeology thing is that great either in regards of the copper golem. I mean archaology is a cool concept and way to get new items and seems like a new fun thing to do. But, I fail to see how a copper golem being involved in that will really be that interesting.

I'm just stating facts, and actually my opinion of the two are pretty much identical, so i'd be happy with either, but i'm curious about it's ties with archaeology, so that's why i'm gonna vote for it

Good point, the deoxidizing just seems like another chore in the case of the golem. At least with blocks it's a good aesthetic feature.

The devs have released info on how the allay will work. It will not, and i repeat IT WILL NOT DUPLICATE ITEMS. It will collect items on the ground nearby and bring them to noteblocks.
Also the copper golem will be able to be deoxidized with an axe, and will deoxidize if struck by lightning.

well that's like the odds of a creeper getting struck it pretty much doesn't happen unless you use channeling or a lightning rod.

I mean, if they're like the blocks in other ways, I'm assuming it'll be possible to wax them.
