i have my *new headset, and my *new Windows 8 PC, For a while i could use the mic on the headset, but now it wont even show as plugged in, ANYONE have answers?

Good make, check the mute button. Otherwise, reboot. If that doesn't work, try reinstalling the driver.

What kind of headset is it?

I have a gamecom 307 by planetronics, it is only a few months old. I have some sort of realtek sound driver i beleive and i already tried updating that. I have restarted my pc and tried finding it in control panel to reconfigure it. It shows up but doesn't carry sound. I beleive my best option is to chase up that warranty and get a new one.

It's a very good make, but they can be hard to maintain 100%. The first thing you will want to do is make sure the mute button is not selected on the side of your headset.
I guess the only other thing if that does not work is to either reinstall the driver or check on control panel > recording devices to see if you microphone is even enabled.
