Hey i need some help with fraps.

Ive been trying to record some minecraft footage with my GTX 970 but it keeps dropping to 50fps without fraps i get around 700 frames on 24 view distance. (using optifine.)

Even when i put everything on the lowest settings i get around 1800fps without fraps but then it drops down to 50 fps again why does it to this? I'd very much appreciate if someone could help me out thanks.

Change your Caputure settings to 60 FPS. Anything above that has no use to humans anyway. 60 (59.9) is about what people see a s very smooth and shouldn't cause any issues. The amount of frames you get ingame are very high but it does not affect your recording that much. It will drop to 50-60(whatever fraps its settings is on) when recording. I hope this helps.

your fps drop because you're recording.... quite usual....
+ your screen can't show more than 60 fps.
Fraps can only show 50 unless you change the fps to a higher rate.
