Please help! Map is not working!

Recently I downloaded a map from PMC, and I did everything I needed to do. (Put it in the saves file, used 1.8 etc.) But when I launch minecraft, the map does not show up in game.
I have had problems like this before, but the only thing they have in common is they are both 1.8 and they both have an empty file named ##MCEDIT.TEMP## .
If someone could help me that would be awesome! Thx!

Have you unzipped it? (if in a zip)
Have you copied the folder into the saves folder IT HAS TO BE A FOLDER
and made sure the contents of the folder has level.dat

You have to move the file not it's contents but not the .zip folder

I also have realized that the maps include a lot of redstone.
