PMC staff impersonators - need help

So I'm sure everyone has this problem because I've had it happen on servers in the past, but I've had many people log in claiming they are staff of PMC and are there for reviews. And if I tell them off since I'm about 100% sure it's not staff, they get a nasty attitude and start threatening the population of the server and reviews, and bla bla, bunch of bull...
So how do I know who is REALLY staff? Is there a PMC staff list I could check? Does PMC even visit player's servers? What should I do in this situation, how should I handle it?
I need as much detail & help on this situation so it's not so messy next time.

I say ban them anyway, One cannot do a proper server review if he has OP anyway, he has to see what the server feels like to the people before making a review, not just fly around and look at the map to make a review
That's my opinion anyway.
P.S. And I am pretty sure that IF some one from PMC staff came and really needed op that bad, it would be expected of him to provide the admins with proof of his title, aka his name on the team list.

It wouldn't be wise for OP to share that since they'd effectively be black-listing that person.

As a staff member, I'm telling you it's black-listing and WILL get OP in trouble. We're talking about people impersonating staff and effectively saying "this person impersonates PMC staff" is definitely black-listing.

Thanks again for the feedback I know they were full of crap, but I just wanted to make sure y'know? I would hate to find out I really banned a PMC staff lol, and I just wanted a staff list to feel a bit more secure about banning the idiots.

Listing new staff on our team page is done almost immediately.
Yep, this. Mods are not mods until they are given the rank. And that page is dynamic so as soon as they have the rank, they are added instantly.

someone claiming they're there to review your server is always nonsense. not to mention they dont need perms for that, as they shouldn't review it from any other perspective than that of a normal player.

I actually saw someone who was trying to pose as Dollarz and get free OP and then was dumb enough to start posting links to the real Staff Members' PMC page and then get banned.

They're trying to take advantage of people who don't know that PMC has no control over that. Apparently it's a common misconception that Planet Minecraft controls servers, which they don't. Not to mention, if you come on here and see a negative server review by someone who tried this scam, if you happened to screenshot it then you could probably get it taken down because that is blackmail.

I review servers without saying Im from PMC give me staff and stuff lol. I just talk to the moderator or admin about his experience and make a review.
Ban or silent them, probably a 9 year old lvl 1 who wants to grief by getting OP

Staff or not, ban them! Who cares if they have power! If they are acting like that they wouldn't deserve power, in which case, you should ban them.

The staff of PMC generally do not do server reviews and if they did they would not try to flaunt their titles to get permissions. A list of the staff can be found here with all of our IGNs. If someone comes to your server demanding permissions and they aren't on the staff list, ban them, not that you should be expecting the staff to come to your server demanding stuff anyways
