Hi guys
I have the minecraft version on my PS4 but it got me curious if minecraft would run on my old desktop. Here are the specs of it, I don't use it often. Do most browsing on phone or iPad.
Windows xp
AMD Athlon 64
2.19 ghz 2.5 GB ram

Also keep in mind that a chromebook has it's own OS, Chrome IS NOT Windows...

yeah, definitely don't get a chromebook unless you're using it solely for school/work or something. try to stick to windows if you want to run games.

*Maybe*. Compatibility is likely going to be the issue, in particular, the graphics card. You could try it, but between the operating system and the general age of the machine, I wouldn't be too optimistic. The CPU could probably pull it off.
If you manage to play it, I'd certainly turn some settings down and grab optifine.

i want to say it should be running at about 20-40 fps at 8 chunks render
maybe ~30+ with optifine
the main problem is the cpu itself if it was an x2 or x4 then it would be fine
