Can we post the default texture pack and skin on the site under a resources section? and maybe some links to things like MCedit and the HD texture fix. Just thinkin it would be useful for people that are just starting.

I think a official resource section will be a valuable addition. Right now, the best place is to create a sticky thread in the Tools, References & Resource forum.

Some people are great artists and terrible with technical computer details.

If people aren't smart enough to find out how to extract the textures from the game they shouldn't be modding in the first place. It's better to tell them how to do it and let them learn themselves instead of giving everything in bite-sized chunks so they don't learn..
