More like silverfish but smaller and that’s a challenge because they are small as a speck of dust and kill you

I like the idea of small little bees, flying around flowers and stuff. Perhaps bee hives as well to get honey and make some kind of food with. If they ever add insects, they should also add a net so you can catch them, and they shouldnt be hostile unless they are in a big swarm.

If Minecraft got ants I'd want them to be like, almost exactly like the ants in Skyrim. Miniscule, and a treat to find, but does absolutely nothing at all.

I'm not as instantly opposed as some others are, but I think they'd probably just end up being another chore to ant proof a build.
What would they do and what would they drop? It could be cool if they would go after cake or something like that, but I wouldn't want something that could get at food inside of a chest.

maybe they could make it so that if you drop a piece of food ants can find it from a distance. but if they attack you then definetly not

Yeah, there'd have to be some benefit too. Like why might someone WANT ants in a particular situation. Like ender mites are a pain, but you can use them to build an enderman farm. What good would ants be?

I'd say no because, even though I would not be opposed to the idea, I feel like it would be a polarizing addition due to people not liking the silverfish/endermite due to their small size and out of nowhere spawning ( silverfish in random stone / endermite with random ender pearl usage )

Ants (or maybe bees!) would add so much ambience to the game. Imagine them sneaking up on you and carrying off your food.

No, they would just be annoying. If you're adding a mob it should play a major role and be useful for something. Bad example here is the bat. I still wonder why it's even there. It doesn't do anything and isn't useful for anything xD

Well they're going to add Termites along with savanna updates eventually, so ants would be a bit redundant.

More ambush monsters is the last thing that ought be added.
Silverfish (particularly since the addition of instant breaking eggs) already overfill the niche.
Potentially some form of Formarian monster could be developed, but the idea needs much more detail to be worth considering.
(This might entail giant varieties that created some form of generated structure as a nest.)
