They won't add them, but I think their reasons for not adding them are stupid, for example: They say they don't want to encourage kids to swim up to sharks IRL, but at the same time, it's okay to walk up to wild wolves, foxes, or even polar bears? The logic is way off.

This is MS/Mj official corporate policy, regardless of the [lack of logical] reason given: Sharks are dangerous and adding them might encourage children to do dangerous things and some sharks are endangered [paraphrased]

Because:

• jumping 20 meters/yards (or more) into 1/7th meter/yard of water is safe
• you won't drwon (or burn to death) as long as you keep eating
• free diving, alone, at night, in a storm, in the ocean, wearing full iron plate armor and toting several dozen tons of rock is safe
• (not to mention) punching a tree will break it into logs before breaking your hand

and one is not supposed to notice that

• some spider species as well as
• many tropical fish,
• some cephlapods (notably all six of the extant Nautilis species), and
• many species of parrot

are at various levels of endangered.

They really should, since there are only two threats (the pufferfish and the guardians). The overworld has many hostile mobs, but the ocean biomes need some too
