I'm making another mod, and need ideas for what powers i should give my sword!

i am adding, in addition to striker107's idea of the ice sword, i am also making ice armor and ice tools. i was going to do a sword that shoots toaster pastries... but i can't figure out how to make it to shoot items : (

Necrotic Sword give you blindes and slowness when hit and have low damahe and low durability.

What about a throw able items mod? that would be fun, with different swords doing different damage when thrown, but all other items just do a half heart.

Maybe try to put Peridots into the game so you can make Peridot-based items like forementioned sword, pickaxe, axe, and shovels. They're not as strong as diamond items, but are more powerful than iron-based ones.
...Or better yet, a sword that makes cool noises when you swing it! You could even allow players to customize the sword noises, like if I wanted to make it have this sound effect and I had the mp3/ogg for it, I could switch it out and it would be in the game. :3

I think it would be cool if you made a sword like a kunai knife to throw

I think it would be interesting to have a multi-tool functionality. Of course with this you would need to make the duration a lot higher since it will probably be used a lot more.

hmm. maybe a magma sword?
unlike the lava sword, it'd do it's own fire damage without needing the fire enchanting book.

i miiiiight not be able to do that, but i'll try (i have decided to do multiple swords with (some of) the powers requested by everyone

It would be good to know what you already have planned before I recommend any (Besides the ones you've listed as options).

i don't really have anything planned. i haven't started the mod yet and it would be easy to restart the sword code.

Alright, then I'll give you a list.
-Slime Sword
Has massive knock back, but little damage.
-Wind Sword
Arrows reflect when held, speed boost when something is killed.
-Ice Sword
Does massive damage, but little durability.
-Obsidian Sword
Most durability, damage of a stone sword, enchantment effects are doubled.
-Lapis Sword
Makes you swim fast, enchantments can be put on a book how you would normally in an anvil.
-Holy Sword
Deals massive damage to undead mobs, nearly none to all others.
-Withric Sword
Durability of a stone sword, but applies wither to target and regen to self when a mob is hit.
-Giant Swords
Can reach further.
-Arsonist's Sword
Mobs ignite when hit, right clicking places fire/ignites TNT, immune to fire damage.
Can give more detail and more ideas if needed.

and for the Obsidian Sword- would a durability of 999,999,999 be good? (because that is the highest durabitlity i can make)

hm.. out of all of these, some i may not be able to do, but i can try. the Ice Sword would definitely be easiest
