Absolute Cinema

Have you seen those morons at theaters overreacting whenever they make a Minecraft reference? Jack Black says, “Chicken Jockeee” and everyone starts howling and throwing their popcorn as if they’re watching an Avengers film again.
I don’t care how much joking you can make and expectations you can put aside, somehow this movie has been getting audiences full of f***ing idiots who can’t even stay seated or shut up. I don’t know how these people even have functional lives with the clear lack of brain cells they’re showing.
A Minecraft Movie was really stupid, and I’m indifferent towards it. But I’m appalled by all these twits raving about it like it’s the best thing ever while giving theater employees a terrible mess to clean up.

I thought it was a pretty fun movie, its not necessarily bad and the movie itself was definitely nothing special but I think all you really need is to find a movie enjoyable for it to be good. I would watch it again and have an amazing time. Definitely a thing to watch with friends though, it'd be kind of sad and pathetic to watch alone imo.
Id say its good enjoyable, not good technical. If that makes sense lol.

Absolute Cinema! all jokes aside it was okay, it not good or bad to say it just a fun silly movie

I think it will be bad but a goofy kind of bad. I'm definitely gonna watch it.

I think it’s going to be a decent movie just because the Minecraft community is going to love to see the different references to different parts of the game. I highly doubt the story itself is going to be even remotely good, but I’m excited to see it just because of the laughs and references.

Early reviews are out, and they are mixed. Some people loved the chemistry between Jack Black and Jason Momoa and the film's irreverent nature, but others detested the bad humour and non-existent screenplay.



It's what I expected, not a Borderlands-level disaster, but it didn't escape the video game movie curse like Mario and Sonic did. It's more akin to the FNAF movie, loved by kids and hardcore fans, but hated by everyone else.

But jokes aside. I think the movie is just mid currently, not bad and not great either.

But as of writing this it hasn't released yet, my opinion will most likely change once I see it.

A low mid...

Live action human actors in an otherwise cartoonish world does not work. Have it be consistent, all live action real people or all cartoon animation.

This makes the players feel like outsiders to the world when they should be part of it, especially Steve.
Minecraft canonically has you become part of the world and not independent from it.

Someone remind me of this in a week so I can come back after seeing the movie.

I can’t really make a judgement until I’ve actually seen the movie, but the trailers (asides from the latest one, personally) haven’t made it seem too interesting. Regardless, I feel obliged to watch it, especially since I grew up playing the game, but whether it will be good or not, we’ll have to wait until Friday for that lol
