probably the wood block you need it for sticks you need it to make even some of the most rare things like netherite tools etc.
you also need it for crafting anything because of the crafting table being completely out of wood
so technically you use wood for ever thing you craft

In general, would say stone.. Very much used in mostly all builds, often used whenever someone want to make a base in survival.. And hundreds of stones below most grass block in a map, so well
