One of my jams is ending, and I'm wondering what jam to make next. There are more then a few options ya see. Take a gander, and vote for the one you are most interested in!

Everyday Reshade-ish Jam 2.0

I mean pretty simple, this jam. But like different colour palette, different base skin, some updates on the description since everyone was a least slightly confused. Well nearly everyone, there was the two percent, but there is always a tiny percentage of people who understand everything perfectly so that's not really a credit to me...

Straight Reshade Jam.

No weird options for participation, just everyone gets a base and shades it. Or mostly anyway... I'm detailing different ways this could go in a spoiler bellow, and if this option wins I'll have a follow up poll for what variety of reshade jam you people specifically desire. But since I want the vote to be a little clearer as to what you people generally want, I'm lumping things together.

Reshade Jam Varieties
Two Halves Reshade Jam

Okay this is basically like a standard reshade jam, except instead of having one whole base skin, you have half of two base skins. (Good example of a two halves base skin here) And when participating in the reshade, you pick one half and make that into a full skin. This gives you a little more choice as to what sort of thing you shade, although not really much freedom in the overall design you do (because it’s pretty much all there).

Four Quarters Reshade Jam

This is very similar to the two halves concept, except instead of two halves, it’s four quarters. Obviously here, since you are only working with a quarter of a skin, you have a lot more freedom, but also a lot more work to do. Since you have to fill in three quarters of a skin rather than just a half.

A Themed/Prompt Jam

The classic sort of jam, where I give you a general(ish) theme to follow. I’m not going to do another character jam until the current one is over. But I could find a good theme, probably. If you guys really want me to do the standard thing.

Remake (One of) My Skin(s) Jam

Basically you pick one of my many skins and reshade/remake it in your style. It’s like an actual reshade jam with over a hundred choices.

Assigned Prompt Jam

Okay this is a more interesting idea, which could take a few forms, but basically you sign up to the jam and I give you a specific prompt which you make a skin for. That’s the central concept. And I could do this a couple of ways, like I could just pick the prompts myself or- or I had an idea where everyone who signs up for the jam makes a prompt and I shuffle them out between everyone.

Could even go crazy and have like multiple rounds, like pictionary or guess the build but for skins.

Everyone makes a prompt → Prompts are Shuffled and Distributed, Skins Made → Everyone Is Randomly Assigned A Skin, They Make A Prompt/Description of the Skin → Prompts Are Distributed etc etc.

That might not be the best event to run as a Jam thinking about it. Because it would have to be multiple jams. Well whatever, if you want either of these ideas, vote for this, there will be a follow up poll for which variety you people want.

Colour Palette Jam

Basically I make a colour palette for you people to use to create a skin, I’ll probably do a plain ‘base colours’ version palette and a ‘shading colours included’ version if you really want to get the full Eloise the Strange experience.

Colouring In Jam

This is another weird idea I had, basically I give a blocked out, fully monochrome skin base- and you guys pick what base colours you are going to use, and shade it. Like some skin version of a colouring in page.

Writing Jam

Basically, if you aren’t actually interested in all this skin nonsense and actually want to see me do a straight no-skins-involved writing jam. Well say so! Come on people! Make your voices heard. (And yes, if this wins, there will be a follow up poll as to what kind of writing jam you would like to see me do)

Okay, well that’s all the things I can think of right now. Vote! And uh leave a comment down below about what you think of the ideas/ideas that you might have for a jam. If you want to take one of these ideas and use them to create your own jam, feel free! I only hoard story ideas, not jam ideas.

Hey, look poll. Vote for what you want to see most/you would be most likely to participate in.

Poll ended 05/06/2025 3:04 am.

Eight hours to go on voting here. I have not the slightest clue what the results are going to be lol

I can't even know how many people have voted. Could be like four people. Probably not, since this thread has eight emeralds, but you know.

Oki, prompted jam but with individual prompts sounds interesting.
I think I partook in something similar about 3 or 4 years ago, and really liked the idea. (I obviously can't remember)
Sounds rad!

I mean I think it would be more motivating, since you know, you get not just a general prompt but one specifically given to you. Only problem is, it's a bit more complicated to run on my end.

the idea of a broken telephone sort of game but with skins is really cool! the only problem is that, with a jam format, all the entries would be. visible. so people can see all the skins and get an idea of which skin their prompt is

Mmm yeah, that's why I'm starting to think that that would be a better game to do outside of the jam system. I mean you could do a single round, just the submit a prompt and someone else is assigned to make the prompt in a jam. But otherwise... ehhh.

Wait the remake one? Really? Why?

Oh I know, but I thought that I would see the results even if nobody else could. Like creator privilege

I dunno, not been feeling very creative or silly today and so I just think remaking something would be a bit more doable than making my own character?

I've been trying to figure out a dress for my own skin I'm working on and it's just like not happening, idk why it's just not working out for me today...

Well, if future you feels different I suppose you can pick different. I was just wondering why you picked that, and not like the standard reshade.

Dresses are hard, the nature of the minecraft character model is simply against you there. I *sigh* have had far too much experience in the matter...
