I would like to provide fun download for people.
I have been mostly going off of my own intuition, on what i personally would want to download.

For now I mostly take pieces (assets, houses, trees) out of the world i am currently making (see: Katsugana). This way i get two birds with one stone.

But I would like to know what people are actually looking for, what they use more frequently, etc.
So, Please let me know what you would like to see and download.

i usually look for resource packs only! i like to have a main resource pack with a collection of small ones that i find on here to enhance my world. anything ranging from new paintings, guis, hotbars, flowers, carpet textures, and more.

That sounds nice! Those are definitely things I sometimes wished there were more variations on in the game

Data packs and resource packs mostly. Something that only changes the aesthetic of the game, or, a data pack that uses commands in the game to make light or heavy modifications. The latter is great if you don't want to use a modded installation.

Do you have any favourite datapacks/mods?

Tables and Chairs, Magic Items, Fletching Data Pack, Queen Bee Expansion, Turret Craft, Swords+ Datapack, Who Goes There?, WEREWOLF in Minecraft, Underground Overhaul, and Better Zombies. All most likely stopped working after all the updates, but I still remember how much fun these were and they inspired some of my own datapacks in a few ways.

Its actually pretty rare that I download builds unless it is assets that I myself am too lazy to go make (tree's, rocks, statues, vehicles). Though if I had to give you a tip based off of my own experience with what kind of builds most people actually download and which they dont, what I have noticed is that the builds that people download from my submissions, mainly seem to be builds that fall in this gray-area of "there are some builds like this, but they are poor quality or unavailable".

To give you two examples of this:
1. https://www.planetminecraft.com/project/ghosts-always-hide-among-the-snow-haunted-mansion/
I noticed that there were a lot of halloween mansions being posted, but they had two issues: Either they were poor quality, or they were hidden behind a subscription fee --> so I decided I would make my own and post it for free (though without interior because I'm lazy hehehe).

2. https://www.planetminecraft.com/project/abandoned-radio-observatory-survival-base-w-interior/
Could argue that this one indeeds borders being stolen, but I have given credit and talked to the guy who made the original who said its alright for me to keep this one up. Point is: I saw one image of this radio-observatory circulating, but that was all there was: a single image; no download, no nothing. So I thought, that from this one image I would try and create a similar build, which turned into this one. Have even seen my version being used in others creations before, so thats super cool :D

---

From my experience the builds that get the most downloads are useable in both creative and survival settings --> In a sense you can think of it like how Kaizen87 is approaching builds: They always seem to find these "gray-zone" builds, where there are a builds like it, but the quality is around the "meh" range. Kaizen always seem to sniff those types of builds out, and then creates a much higher quality version, that pushes the idea/concept into the range of "holy cow, I'd pay for that!". Even if I strongly disagree with how often Kaizen updates their submissions, I often take inspiration from their work and aim to create builds that can compete with Kaizens builds in quality.

Wow, thank you so much.

I hadn’t thought about this like that. I have somewhat tried to do this intuitively. (Trying to make things that are somewhat original, or at least better than there is content from.

This is some really valuable information.

Most of what I DL are things that appear to be doing something interesting with the art/decor/function that isn't readily apparent from the posted material (or that I want to have handy for reference).

[Which is likely a near useless answer as what constitues 'something interesting' doesn't seem to have any objectively clear criteria. ]
