comparison: both skyrim and dark souls are good games they both are open spaced games (well kinda for dark souls) the games are literally connected if intended to or not... the story line of darksouls is the dragons ruled the earth the people worshipped them untill one day the people were udderly destroyed by the dragons in the long battle very few dragons remain you are known a hollow a human.... imagine a really old person with thier skin bleeding and in armor in a crypt..... you are chosen to explore the world and to save it the now in skyrim they are called droughtr there are clues in game almost screaming at you skyrim and darksouls are cousins

differences: while both games are an rpg with armor and weapon choices the character customization is different in darksouls you can only be hollow but the thing i like about skyrim is i CAN change races i can be a cat man i can be an argonian and many other creatures. another difference and its a big one is in skyrim you AREN'T bound by invisable walls so you could just level up and wait to do your mission while in darksouls you ARE bound by invisable walls and making you go to the next boss. skyrim has a big story to it its not just " oh save us oh no save us be this guy you are the chosen one" while yes you are the dragon born meant to save skyrim(or whatever they call earth) it has more story just simply more lore between what path you choose there is more story added as you go and what you do the more you do what your supposed to do the more the story you understand (i literally just started getting interested to skyrim a month ago while i couldnt play i watched videos about it)......

Gonna have to disagree with "Skyrim has more lore". Dark Souls has tons of lore, but it's all hidden in flavor text and dialogue. It's meant to be sought out by the player and for its pieces to be put together. I'd argue that because of that gathering it is more rewarding than finding a book on the side of the road with a full history lesson on the Stones of Barenziah.

I do like both games though. Skyrim has given me PLENTY of playtime and so has each Dark Souls. :)

You're right. Would like to add an argument though, may be valuable to some skyrim fans on here.

Skyrim in itself probably has less lore than Dark Souls (lore wise Skyrim isn't the best Elder Scrolls game imho), but the complete Elder Scrolls series combined probably has more lore than Dark Souls. A lot of the lore found in Skyrim is referenced from and built upon lore from Oblivion and Morrowind. Same goes for Oblivion, it has lore that depends on Morrowind (and probably also from Arena and Daggerfall). I've been playing all three of the 5 main Elder Scrolls game and having overarching lore is pretty awesome when you discover them :D
