I was wondering if a tamed wolf will eat your animals.
I'm asking cause my wolf came in my pen and when I went back in, my chickens were gone.

No. Simple as that. The chickens either despawned, or an ocelot killed them. Also, wolves only attack sheep and Herobrine has nothing to do with this at all. -.-
Herobrine doesn't exist. period. exept for the mod.

Chickens do not despawn UNLESS you are running certain mods. (for instance, mo' creatures set vanilla animals as despawning...)

No. Simple as that. The chickens either despawned, or an ocelot killed them. Also, wolves only attack sheep and Herobrine has nothing to do with this at all. -.-

what version are you playing in? if you are below beta 1.7.3 herobrine was in that version but if you are playin 1.2.3 herobrine was gone.
first of all, if it became night when you left your pen, and came back, your wolf could have attacked a skeleton that shot the chickens.

And have you ever read the update log ? it said Herobrine Removed at least like 5 times

^its props just a glitch then spawn them back in

they do not despawn and your chickens most likely got out, only if you hit the chiccken will he kill them

I'm ALWAYS careful when entering/exiting my pen.

All I know is my chickens are gone. There is no way that they could have gotten out.

i thought cats went after chickens and dogs kill sheep...

im not positive, but im pretty sure wolves tamed or not are made to attack farm animals. (pigs, sheep, cows etc.)
