What's It About?

Boisterous Bossfights is your opportunity to make the biggest, baddest boss of them all- using datapacks. This could mean anything from a Herobrine-summoning reboot to a brand-new boss with brand-new abilities. Have it summon naturally, or with items and structures- the possibilies are nearly endless. Be creative!

Rules

Entering:

• Entries must be submitted by the deadline (Tuesday, August 31st, 2021).
• Datapacks made prior to the release date of this contest are not allowed.
• Entries must be made specifically for the purpose of entering the contest.
• If your datapack isn't playable, or if it is too glitchy to play properly, it will be disqualified.
• Datapacks which don't match the theme will also be disqualified.

Datapack Content Requirements:

• Using an existing boss (Ender Dragon, Wither) as a base is not allowed.
• Using existing mobs, including ones not fully implemented (Giant, Illusioner) as a base is allowed.
• Creating a fully custom boss using armor stands, markers, etc. is allowed.
• Bossbars used to display health will earn you some extra points, but are not required.
• The boss must have a way you can spawn it without running a command. This could involve items, structures, or even natural spawning.
• The datapack must have an understandable usage guide either inside the code or on the download page.
  
  

How To Enter

Enter by sending the link to your datapack in the comments section. Datapacks not hosted on PMC will be automatically disqualified. Once your entry has been accepted, it will be placed in the chart below, where you're also able to view other people's entries.

Prizes

The winner of this contest gets the "Contest Winner" rank on my Discord server (if they choose to join), a shoutout in the follow-up video to this contest, and ten dollars of Steam Credit. If you win, make sure to contact me with any promotion-related material you want me to present in the next video.
Second and third place winners will also be mentioned in the video, along with their entries. If I happen to find a datapack in the contest that is just too good to go unmentioned, it will get a sort of "Honorable Mention" during the follow-up.
It's more than likely that I'll be using footage of most, if not all, the bossfights during the video, and listing every link in the description. If you aren't okay with this, make sure to contact me about that.

Judging

The winners will be determined based on:

• Creativity - uniqueness of the idea
• Smoothness - the datapack should work without glitches
• Fun - the datapack should be entertaining to play with
• Ease of use - the datapack should have a clear-cut summoning method, bossfight sequence, etc.

Note: The difficulty of the fight is of no consequence. As a matter of fact, if the bossfight is too hard (or too easy) it may lose points for a lack of fun or ease of use. It can be early-game, late-game, or mid-game... it doesn't matter to me as long as the fight is entertaining.

Other Info

Want to know how to create a custom bossbar that displays health? First, create a scoreboard objective that syncs with the health of your boss (I'll leave this to you- I'm not going to tell you everything ;) ). Then, make a custom bossbar (check out this tutorial) to display that objective. The rest is up to you....
