Welcome to a unique project contest that focuses on interior details, brought to you by PlanetMinecraft and Cubed! This contest will test your decoration skills, attention to detail and ability to push the use common blocks in new and inventive ways.
You will be challenged with furnishing a home of your choice including the garden. At the end of the contest, all finalists will become neighbors in a unique town for everyone to explore!

Where are the starter maps?
Download one of the starter maps from their dedicated pages linked at the top of this contest description.
Is this SOLO or TEAM contest?
No. It's an open project contest. If you'd like to work with friends, you can. However, you will need to work out with your friends who gets to post it and ultimately who will get the prize should the group effort win. We don't want to discourage people from working together. We tried splitting project contests into team/solo and feel it's sending the wrong message.
Which Minecraft version do I have to build in?
Use version 1.15.x
How can I decorate more than one house?
You can only decorate one.
Do I have to decorate the garden?
No, this is optional.
Is there a specific style?
These homes are built to suit a variety of styles. Try keeping the interiors relatively modern (1920-present times).
Can I use paintings, banners, custom player heads etc.?
Yes.
Are we allowed to incorporate command blocks and redstone into our builds?
Try to avoid complex Redstone or command systems. The final map will not include any command block features you create.
How will the final map work?
When the contest is finished and all entries submitted, Cubed will load every finalist home into a residential town with roads. This map will be available for download on completion, allowing everyone to experience your unique decorating.

Can you use posed armor stands as decoration? Like with items and stuff?

Yep, you can.

May I ask why you disabled cheats for the starter map worlds? Just because they'd be really handy for me in some cases...

These cheats are disabled by default, if you go to settings and open the map as LAN you can enable them again.

You could turn on LAN mode and then enable cheats.

Can you add in doors in the doorways without editing the doorways themselves?

I'm wondering about this too. The rules say you can't edit doorWAYS, but I'm not sure whether adding or changing doors might risk breaking the rules...

Can i use custom maps (MC map arts) to simulate a decoration/furniture? Will the map art still apear when you copy the house and add to neighbourhood?

Yep, you can use maps. All entities will be copied into the neighbourhood too.

- Do not edit the exterior of the homes including windows or doorways. This rule also applies to the garage.
- All internal walls and floors can be edited. The fireplaces can be edited cosmetically. Internal stairs can be edited. This rule also applies to the garage.
- Gardens can be landscaped. Existing trees/hedges can be edited, or removed. Small structures such as patios, gazebos or a barbecue can be constructed in the garden. Structures can not be large, or treated as "extensions" to the house exterior.

After creating a project, edit the project and look for a tick-box to submit it to the contest. Save & continue to submit it.

Editing the exterior of the house is allowed? I mean, like making swimming pools or planting trees?

Yes, you can plant trees and add a swimming pool however you cannot specifically change the house's exterior walls, roof, doors, windows etc.

I checked the box for entering into the contest and it says I'm still not entered. I edit the project and look for a tick-box to submit it to the contest, and still nothing. I deleted it and redid the process and still nothing.

I have the same problem! I checked the box, but it doesn't say I'm entered! When I try to edit the page to enter, the check-box is there, and unchecked. No matter what I do, It won't let me enter. Please help!

Hi, this issue has been resolved.

Try submitting again, you should be able to now. There was a bug yesterday for about 4 hours that prevented entry.

The rules say that I can edit walls, but does that mean I am allowed to completely destroy and add walls in the interior?

You can indeed destroy and edit walls inside, as long as the exterior is kept intact.

As a follow up question from FormingPluto I do wonder the following:
1. Are we allowed to make an inside staircase towards the basement a.k.a. basement is accessible from the inside rather than only the outside?
2. I assume expending the basement to make it larger is out of question.

You can indeed add interior access to the basement. Making the basement larger is not allowed.

Why I can't submit my entry? I finished the house, clicked the tick-box "submit for contest" and uploaded the map. But my house still doesn't appear in the "entries" page. I clicked on the "edit page" and I saw that the tick box to enter the contest wasn't clicked. I clicked it again and saved changes, but still nothing. I see that i'm not the only one with this problem. Pleeeease help.

Hi, you can indeed break these, the full interior can be edited to your liking. Likewise stationary mobs can be used.

Hi, this pool can be present. You can add your own trees and landscape the garden, but it must not be considered an extension to the building or otherwise distract from the main building. We do have Russian speaking staff available to take questions.

can i use commands to make some cool add-ons like items on a shelf using custom armor stands. and can i change the size/shape of the basement. can i add another entrance to the basement
