Star Wreck: In the Pirkinning

OK, I grew up around both, but over the years, I've grown more attacked to Star Wars because I'm a fantasy person. That doesn't mean I despise Star Trek, because it's also a major part of my childhood.
1
Awesome! Mind if I ask what your favorite fantasy series is?
2
In movies, it's most definitely Star Wars, in books, I have many, but an all-around favorite series of mine is Kathy Tyers' 'Firebird' series. She also wrote a few of the Star Wars novels.
2
Hm, let's compare a sci-fi series with hundreds of overall episodes from different settings with a mainstream sensation movie series that's more 'fantasy' style but in a sci-fi setting. I'm sure comparing a Pizza with a 5-course christmas dinner is going to give meaningful results (just a general analogy, I have no idea which would be the pizza and which would be the 5-course dinner).
2
Star Wars is way more entertaining though, if I want "fake science"
words that Spock makes up on the spot then I'll watch Star Trek. Star
Wars is just way better... mainly because of the millennium falcon.. and
working shields that don't start fires in the bridge till after they fail. Seriously what is the point of shields if they don't protect you...

1
I'm with you all the way but the Enterprise would ruin the Falcon though!
2
Idk, falcon is way better at dodging, smaller target, and has Han/Chewbacca so... yeah.
1
I'd prefer the Falcon for the same reason I'd choose a classic car over something more modern. But, you've still got to respect the modern car because it's wipe the floor with it!
Replicators, torpedo bays and a crew of about 1000!

You have to remember that the Millennium Falcon is the ship that blew up an almost-functional Death Star, was able to traverse the highly-dangerous Kessel Run in 12 parsecs when the regular is 20 (this is a measurement of distance). It has also evaded Star Destroyers numerous times, even without its hyperdrive.
And from my research, it shows that the Falcon has 2 quad laser cannons, 2 concussion missile tubes, a "Ground Buzzer" blaster cannon, and a tractor beam projector. It also has three different shield systems built in, along with capital ship-class armor, despite being a light freighter.
Sorry, I just love the Falcon. She may not be pretty, but she sure gets the job done.

Well, I hope the Chewie can reach those quad laser cannons once I've teleported his ass outside the ship! Hahaha

doctor who

Definitely not a good comparison. They aren't similar enough to say who does it better. I mean, you can make a big stretch and compare it to Star Trek, but there isn't really much to support that.
And while I consider myself a fan of the series, it cannot stand up Star Wars. And in terms of fighting Warhammer 40K, it's down to 2 seconds.I don't see the Doctor and his companions lasting very long against lascannons and Titans.

Comparing Star Wars and Star Trek makes about as much sense as comparing either with Dr Who, though ST vs DrWho is closer, since they're both series.
1
Thank you for helping me clear that up! However, what would be a good comparison to Doctor Who?
2
I'm not sure, to be honest.
1
It may be in its own category. Still doesn't make it better than everything else, but I will give it that credit.
1
how about daleks, they almost wiped out all of reality
1
Nope. Fighting demonic powers who try and alter reality everyday prepares the Imperium for stuff like that, with examples such as trying to keep the Eye of Terror from growing and keeping Chaos Marines and demons inside it. Or just the Warp in general. That’s why a lot of Space Marines have holy weapons.
1
when I say reality, i mean every single universe
this one alien man who has a magic box
stopped a bunch of evil zappy peppershakers from deleting all universes and keeping them all as their own
to describe the inside of the box, imagine the biggest ship possible.
...
...
now forget it because the inside is literally infinite and you could probably fit millions of those ships inside of it and then put several planets and it'll be fine
t h e o n l y t h i n g that the tardis doesn't have is cool zappy lasers and the magic box man with a metal magic wand doesn't have the force

I know what you meant. Yes, the Doctor has saved reality on his own, but he does face a lot more difficulty with the task, unlike the Imperium who has over 20,000 years of experience with this stuff, and more importantly, the Warp. Oh, and the Emperor himself has pretty much done the same thing.
The Warp is not our reality, so to us, there would be no reality if the entire universe was swallowed by the Warp. Time passes differently, you can spend 100 years in the Warp when it has only been 3 minutes in reality. The human mind also can’t process the Warp, rendering any regular human insane and probably possessed by a demon.
Also, I’m talking more about Warhammer 40K. If the Imperium found the TARDIS, they would blow that piece of Xeno tech to hell. And we have psykers, who work wonders with seemingly unkillable opponents.
Remember, this one of my favorite sci-fi universes, so I’m going to defend it. I’m also a fan of Doctor Who, and I know its shortcomings. And finally, let’s agree to disagree.

To be honest, I don’t think the two should be compared. Despite what people think, Star Wars is more science fantasy, not true science fiction. It would be better to compare it to a universe like Warhammer 40K (which are on totally different levels in terms of how hardcore it is.) Star Trek is leans more towards science fiction, basing it more on technology.
Star Wars is also more action-oriented, with large-scale battles and a greater focus on combat. Star Trek is more exploration-based, leaning more towards adventure rather than war.
But of course, Star Wars is still better. I mean, my name should have told you everything. It’s my opinion, and there is no way you can change it, so don’t get offended by it.
Plus, it’s the only sci-fi universe that has technology that can put a tiny dent in Warhammer 40K’s technology (because as I said, hardcore.) Star Trek? Wouldn’t last five seconds.

I was told that they are not really as close to compare as people do. Star Wars uses science fiction and mostly space warfare to drag you in and keep you there, then uses mysterious elements like the force to keep it interesting. Star Trek is more realistic however, and space battles are smaller and are more focused to inside the ship.
