What lurks beneath [ Contest | Any model ] idea pitched by Fyram
Re-imagine and design a mob that you'd find underground or in the depths of the sea. You can choose any model, it does not need to be a mob that currently spawns underground or in the sea.
Mythical Monsters [ Contest | Any model excluding objects ] idea pitched by Makaneek
Ancient Mythology had many terrifying and fascinating imaginary creatures, and now it's time to portray them in Minecraft. Create a mob skin that depicts a Monster or creature of ancient legends and lore. Please use only creatures that real human cultures believed in at some point in history. There are tons to choose from.
Beasts of the Colosseum [ Event (Max 5 Entries) | Any model ] idea pitched by Romecraft Community
In the heyday of ancient Rome, amphitheaters across the empire were alive with the sound of gladiators, who would spend day after day facing off against not only other gladiators, but a host of ferocious beasts from all over the ancient world. These beasts were quite a spectacle for an ancient Roman back in the day!
There was a large assortment of beasts in the arena including elephants, lions, tigers, bears, deer, wild goats, leopards, boars, crocodiles, hippopotamuses, rabbits, wild boar, giraffes, and many others. For the sake of not limiting the potential so much, you could also include other animals of antiquity. Some other ideas would be a any ancient dog breeds like the Greek Molossus or Roman Cane Corso dog, any cat breeds originating in ancient Egypt, the wild Aurochs, camels, or anything else that just feels right for the time period.
Revenge of the Ores [ Contest | All model excluding objects ] idea pitched by PKMNmastercass
Description: Remember that ore you mined? Or that one Ore that fell into lava? Well, now they are taking over all the mobs! Create a mob skin based on any of the ore types (coal, iron, Redstone, diamond, gold, emerald, and netherite.
Pre-Historic Minecraft Mobs [ Contest | Any model excluding objects ] idea pitched by ArcaneKnight
Let's turn back the clock millions of years and see the primitive version of the mobs, whether it's a caveman villager or a dino ravager or something befitting the periods pre-dating recorded history.
Steampunk Park [ Contest | Any model excluding objects ] idea pitched by Cyprezz
Create steam punk renditions of Minecraft mobs. For example, imagine the mobs as a machines powered by steam with clockwork gears.
Laboratory Experiments II (Mob Edition) [ Contest | All models ] idea pitched by Auri
Was it born, built or bred in a lab? Made from steel, flesh, or something else altogether?
Are you a necromancer, occultist, mad scientist, a wizard... or maybe simply a keen biomed major?
Whoever, or whatever you are, the laboratory lies open to you.
What creations will you unleash?
Sci-fi High Fantasy Monsters [ Event (Max 2 entries) | Hostile Mobs Only ] idea pitched by Nozo
In the golden age of CRPGs the three most popular CRPG games (80s/early 90s) where the Might and Magic series, Ultima series and Wizardry series. These three games had some things in common which many modern CRPGs lack- science fiction in a high fantasy setting (though Ultima lacks the most out of the three). Those three games invented the CPRG genre effectively.
How will you mash these two genres together creating a unique monster! Perhaps you would create a creature powered by technology masked as magic on a world. Or perhaps the hostile monster is aided by both magic and technology? The choice is yours! Do whatever as long as it is retained within the two genres!
Mobs in Space [ Contest | Any model ] idea pitched by anonpmc2713049
Time to channel your inner space nerd! The goal is to create the best space-themed animal or mob skin you can imagine. To infinity, and beyond!
Biome Swap [ Event | Any model excluding objects ] idea pitched by JackieT
Suddenly, all the mobs of Minecraft have swapped biomes! Imagine what they'd look like if instead of being on land they lived underwater or instead of the Nether on the Ice Plains. (example)

I think a fun event would probably be "Sci-fi High Fantasy Monsters". It like just creating a bunch of overpowered boss monsters.
4
I voted Mobs in Space (in my head, it sounded like the old Muppet Show's "Pigs in Space"), but I'd be perfectly happy with Revenge of the Ores as well.

Why should you vote What Lurks Beneath?
1. It's the most interesting theme.
2. There's so much room for creativity!
3. It's been getting 2nd and 3rd time and time again.
