It's time to pick the theme for our next Planet Minecraft Skin contest for February 2018!
Read over each of the ideas carefully, making sure to understand what all of them are about before voting. Remember, vote for the one you like the best, not the one you think is going to win!
Frankenskins
- It's alive! It's alive! It's Frankenskins! Don't steal parts but do create a skin that's pieced together with creativity, molded from pixels and connected in ways only the skin community can appreciate. Experiment with different styles, don't be shy, go crazy, have fun making 10 skins into one!
What do you Meme?
- Love em' or hate em'; you can't escape a well crafted viral meme that floods every website, game and social media platform. Whether you want to keep the meme going or beat a dead meme while it's down, this skin contest is for you! Make a skin that meme's something! Ugh, I'll let myself out. Do u no da wae?
Onesies
- Imagine a world where everyone wears onesies! Cozy, confident, no shame, always prepared for a cat nap, aaahh yeah. Make a skin of a skin wearing a skin of a onesie. Wait, is that right? You get the idea. Pajama party!!!
Look at me, I'm the Emoji now.
- Be it a flower or a poo, the choice is up to you. Will you be painted nails? A nose? A kissy face? Perhaps you'll win first place! No longer restrained to lines of text, we'll join servers wearing our expressions for all to laugh or cry about. Make a skin that represents an Emoji.
Beautiful Color Palette
- Limitations or guided inspiration? You'll be restricted to colors in a specific color palette. What you do with the palette will be up to you. Shout out to PBL!
Anime
- Summon years of training and your limitless ki to create a legendary hero, a malevolent villain, or some unfortunate sap who just wants a tasty bowl of ramen. In the Anime Skin Contest, your fantasy is made reality, your destiny reveals itself, and your power comes into the light. Perhaps you'll make Ryu Kuro, the Fist of Legend, or Yoel Nazaki, the Seventh Son of Terror, or maybe Hashi Yuko, just a girl who can summon manga characters! Finish the arc, and make a skin depicting either an anime character of your own creation, or from a pre-existing series/show.
Apocalypse 2
- We find ourselves deep in the aftermath of nuclear war, coughing up disease and dangerous fumes! Radioactive gasses, polluted ground, murky waters filled with unsavory fish and grime, among other things, plague the world. What type of creatures live in these terrible environments, what type of survivors manage to eek out the day-to-day living, or what else lives out there, deep in the gaseous fog? Make a skin detailing a creature, character, or other such component of an Apocalypse-scarred world.
Storybook Medieval
- The tales we read in storybooks as children come back to life in this contest, stories of daring knights, dashing rogues, and distressed damsels filling the pages of your imagination. What story will you tell with your skin? Perhaps a magical dragon that shoots fiery balls of flame has locked a poor knight in the tower, and a swashbuckling princess must come and save him! Or, a witch finds herself enchanted by the King's... horse? Anything goes in this fairy tale! Make a skin about a character set in a fictional, fantastical medieval world, or perhaps something else that might appear in such a fable.
Western
- Howdy, partner. As you shamble into town, you see a gunslinger on the other end, his finger itchin' on the trigger. Bang! Welcome to the Western Skin Contest! Your job, bounty hunter, is to root out the most interesting, devious, dashing, daring, devilish desperado this side of the Mississippi River. This is the rough and ready West, though; anyone could be a desperado in disguise! Bang bang! Make a skin depicting a typical hero, villain, or roaming wanderer of the West, whether that be a cowboy, stablehand, coach-driver, waterboy, or something else in-between. Be seein' y'all!
City Life
- The city's alive with the hustle and bustle of hundreds of thousands of people! From the frequenters of a trendy coffee-shop on the corner, to the diligent crew of construction workers keeping the metropolis in shape, and everything between, create someone (or something!) that calls the city its home!

I feel like the Color Palette idea is fine (PBL becoming official??) but oh my god...that palette. All of the colors are way too similar to one another...plus there needs to be at least a little variety in the shades of blue we are offered.
