Hey there.
I'm Zanril. Its a name I've been using which was meant for a LARP group I never ended up joining. I also used it for a Dungeons and Dragon's half-elf cleric for 4th edition that I never ended up playing :P. Its the longest username I've used online.
Other versions of my name include:
• Zan - a shortened version of Zanril
• Zandaddy - Some younger generation kid created this cringy abomination
• Zandril
• Zandra - the name of a female version of my skin I created sometime in 2018
• OnlyZans - a meme name created by a friend. I've ran with it. I dream that I will cosplay my own skin just to live up to this meme someday.
• Banril
• Zanreal - the REAL Zanril
• Zanreel - me if I was a fisherman
• Zand - Zanril version of Sand
• ...much more that I can't remember
I've commuted to this site many times for the skin editor. I was a long time user of the editor on Skindex but I wanted something more and switched to the editor here.
I've been playing Minecraft: JE since late alpha circa November 2010. I played alone, with my high school friends, a former neighbor, and one relative, playing survival for most of my playtime. Modded was never my thing but I'm fine with Semi-vanilla or "Vanilla Plus" as I've seen it called. I joined my first public server near the start of 2013 which was on 1.4.7 (Full Release) at the time. I would only play on there for a year and a half, then I'd go back to playing through LAN thanks to Hamachi, or Tunngle
Skype was the first way I kept in contact with everyone (besides Facebook, yuck), then I tried, Xfire, Teamspeak, Ventrillo, , Raidcall, Curse Voice, and eventually uninstalled that after it became Twitch Voice and became out of touch with the friend I was talking to through these VoIP programs. I'm so glad Discord came along cause I hated jumping from software to software just to be able to voice call without having simple "I can't hear you" and similar issues with that one friend. I'd use a microphone from the game Guitar Hero to voice chat. That mic was in-service for 12 years - nearly as long as I've been playing Minecraft - surprising! It still works, and I keep it as a backup. It truely is "olde reliable"
I wouldn't join another public survival server until January 2017 . It was a server that was riding the wave of the Minecraft Renaissance that was happening at the time. Its first world reset was in the middle of 2020. Its second world remains today but seeing a once great server fall from grace and popularity it once had has demotivated me, among other issues. I plan to end the majority of my time spent on that server this coming January - my 7th anniversary on that server.
If you got questions about the 1.12 to 1.16 public survival server environment, I'm your guy, I was in the thick of it! I even got the world file too, all 240GB of it ._.
I've created an account on this site to share some creative projects from that server, hoping that some can find them useful for their own adventure maps, or for personal entertainment. For the most part they will be my series of dungeons that players raided to get to the final room, collect rewards unique to it, and head home. When I do decide to revisit the dungeons I've made, I'd like to add what I wanted to them that I couldn't do while in survival.
I have more history with dungeon making even before that server came to my attention that I'd be willing to share, they however need desperate work put into them than my more modern dungeons since they were created in earlier versions of the Minecraft, and frankly, I was incompetent, and did not flesh out or plan much of anything with my earlier work.
That is all. Good day to you.
