I just started a new realm with my husband (he introduced me to Minecraft back when it came out, we were both still in college then ^__^ ) it's been fun to revisit the game after a time away and discover all the new content that's been added. I used to do almost exclusively Survival mode, but I've been having fun getting into more Creative/Peaceful mode and using Command prompts to explore more of the world than I could playing strictly survival. It's been a lot of fun! I'm also learning how make skins for the first time in the editor. I've always wanted to learn!
