Happy Saturday and last day of August! Did August go by really fast for you, or is it just us? Here's another Weekly recap brought to you by PMC and DinowCookie! We hope everyone is having a great weekend so far!

While the skin enthusiasts are waiting eagerly to see if their favorite skin contest theme will win, on the projects side on PMC the judges are currently busy travelling through Minecraft outer-space, to judge the finalists entries in the Project 2048 Space Exploration Build Contest. The screenshots shown below should give a brief impression of just how otherworldly the creations are that were entered. Nice work, builders!

Christmas in September!? Why not! It's not even fall yet, but some members such as memora are already thinking wintery-themed holidays! They're hosting a Secret Santa fantasy skin event and sign ups end on the 5th of September!
If skinning isn't your thing, Sir_Craftypants is hosting a Movie Themed Building contest! The contest is split up into two skill levels: Advanced and Vanilla. Your task is to build anything as long as its' movie themed! Head on over to the forum thread for all contest rules & guidelines!

OTHER HIGHLIGHTSTUTORIAL TIME! CaraRose shared tutorials on how to make a project submission on PMC and how to upload your map to PMC! The project submission tutorial gives you an overview of all the parts of the upload form, and how to fill them out properly. The tutorial on how to upload a map shows clear screenshots of exactly how you can pack your map and send it our way! ONESIES!
DragonsDungeon organized a happening on August 28th, referred to as Planetary Onesie Day! Members all around the site created skins dressed in onesies! At the end of the day, a total of 13 skins were contributed, a lot of them with a funny twist! Below are a few of our favorite from the event - you can view all of the skins submitted by visiting the Planetary Onesie Day Collection!

SHADER SHOWCASE
What is a shader? A shader is used to control lighting and shading effects and can make your Minecraft world more realistic! If you've built a project or map, using a shader for screenshots or video will compliment your work and can make it more aesthetically pleasing.
We bring this up because while scrolling through wall posts, this one by billoxiiboy caught our eye. His wall post features beautiful photos of his Exodus From Paradise project using the Voyager Shader by SixSeven67. billoxiiboy gives a rave review of the shader and states:
"It is without hesitation that I Recommend and Refer All Landscape Artists' and Builders to this particular Shader. It has all of my favourite qualities in a Shader rolled in to One! Mist, Depth of Field and Richness in Visual Qualty."

I love shaders, but my tiny laptop can't really handle them, so.... yeah... The closest I get is optifine. :)

Sildur's Enhanced Default is my current favorite shader.

I use Sildur's Enhanced Default shaders myself! I might have a look a some different shaders in the future though, just to see what's available.

I actually do fine on shaders. ~120 fps, so im good!

Highly depends on your PC's specifications.
Shaders (depending on which ones) really push the GPU.
I can't deny they look s e x y as all hell when they're smooth!

BSL on a RX 580 work fine, with the right settings.

Maybe with your custom settings, but setting a shader to high or ultra (16 chunks, 1080p) cripples my RX 580 down to 30 frames.

I don't, as even with an RX 580 I still dip way below 75 fps (75Hz), and I'd rather have good performance than pretty visuals.
