Welcome to the weekend! This week was packed with so many great submissions! We've wrapped up the Summer Community Event in a Summary which features several stunning submissions; many new community hosted events also popped up this week and include everything from reshades to a texture pack contest! We have some featured art this week, as well as a FREE skin pack curated by some of the most talented skin artists on PMC. You'll also find a few simple tutorials, a medieval resource pack, a sci-fi megacity and more!

SUMMER COMMUNITY EVENT SUMMARY🌈
During the month of June we invited every member on Planet Minecraft to create submissions in the Summer Community Event, themed Sunshine After the Rain.The theme was open to imagination: participants could make something sun-, rain or summer themed, or represent something that makes them feel happy. Together the community contributed a total of 768 entries in the event, thanks everyone! With all of these shining submissions you can surely enjoy an amazing Minecraft-summer with sandcastles, swimming pools and lots of sunshine!

NEW! Correlation is a player-skin only palette contest hosted by VinylReplica! The palette (shown left) contains light and dark earthy colors. You don't have to use every color in the palette, but your score may just go up if you do! 1st, 2nd and 3rd place receive trophies and a participation trophy is awarded to all participants. Deadline: August 15

NEW RESHADES
Reshade contests are a great way to practice your shading skills, and also a good starting point if you're new to participating in community contests! Check out the 3 that were launched this week and choose one (or all 3!) to test your shading skills on!

Totem of Undying palette Contest being hosted by Juliancito135. The goal is simple: create a skin based off of the totem colors! Deadline: August 9	Click here to import into PMCSkin3D!
It's Juliancito135's sweet 16 on August 9th, and they're celebrating by hosting a community event where participants must create a birthday-themed submission! It can be a submission of any type; map, player or mob skin! You can enter as many times as you want. Participants receive a Minecraft themed "16" participation trophy! Deadline: August 9
Will o'the Wisp is Taorb07's first ever hosted event, and has a unique theme: you must create a mob of soul fire/candles! All participant receives a floating skull badge. Deadline: August 10
This mini-contest, Industrialization, is a Texture Pack contest! Your pack must be industiral/steampunk themed and must change at least 7 different textures. Visit the forum thread for all of the details and comment if you plan on participating! ⚙️ Deadline: August 21

ART GALLERY 🎨

Shire12 shared in a wall post, some doodles of MC Survivor contestants and another doodle of Graham from King’s Quest (not pictured, but check the wall post for the doodle of Graham)! They have a few art blogs with similar doodles!	The colorful sketch above is just ONE of several in Meiolki's art blog they published this week! Their blog features finished and unfinished traditional and digital artwork and sketches. We love the neon color palettes in the first few under finished pieces!
This beautiful purple painting by interlude_vi is fanart of black swan jimin and was a wall post of theirs from this week. If you love their art style, they have an art blog filled with digital, pixel, and traditional art! 🎨 If you're interested in learning more about the artist, sakuraa, Winds_ recently interviewed them which you can read here!	This beautiful scene is a drawing by bwuhbwuh which they shared in a wall post. We love the pink contrast against the soft lavender and greens!  After about 2 years of silence, GhostShiv is back with an art blog featuring 12 of their recent Minecraft renders and 2D design compilations!

The blog section is FILLED with simple, easy to follow tutorials; whether you're looking for a simple small home or some lawn accents for your front yard.

How to build a Cottage House by Natsukai is just 1 of 4 tutorials they submitted this week - this particular tutorial shows you a timelapse process of the cottage house for your survival to be more cozy! Follow along with the video and pause when needed. If you'd rather have a small modern home, they created a tutorial in similar format!

What we really liked in Deamon_Hunter's Survival Starter House tutorial is that they show you a list and quantity of materials you'll need to build this home. So convenient! This home features 2 stories and even a small garden. Looking for something more complex? Check out their other tutorial from this week,The Ultimate Underground Survival Base!

Now that you've constructed your humble abode, why not add a little landscaping? Mr Potatoe1 teaches you how to build a small pond in their latest blog tutorial. Stock it with your favorite fish, add some under-water decor such as coral and sea cucumbers and you've got yourself one serene scene to wake up to every morning!

A RESOURCE PACK TO RAVE ABOUT Long-time member Valerii Kim is back with another epic resource pack they released this week, Legendary! This pack is a medieval-fantasy pack that stays close to vanilla style, but gives you a different experience with more than 100 custom mobs and models, entire retexture of all blocks, custom font and GUI and more. Their first pack, SpiralCraft was submitted 10 years ago! Another one of our favorite packs from them is Tales of Jobutara Kingdom, a fun and vibrant and colorful pack that's entirely different from what you're used to - in only the BEST of ways. 🌈

CAPTURED SOULS Capture the souls of mobs and harness their special powers with this data pack by YokaiS! You must first obtain a soul wand which is the tool you'll need to capture souls. When you can get several souls, you'll have the ability to create a being that is fully made of them. What kind of powers will you have? That depends on which mob soul you've captured. A soul hound, for instance, has a fast speed and stronger attack damage. If you're able to craft a soul crown, you'll have 20 seconds of fire resistance whenever you find yourself in fire or lava.

🌆 MASSIVE MEGACITY

QuanticsBuild has made several impressive builds, and their latest, Nova Celes City is no exception. This city is divided into 3 sectors; the first sector contains a hydraulic dam. The second is a sector made up of 8 different neighborhoods with various achitectural styles including chinatown, biohazard, video games, industrial, party and more. The third and final sector is the center of the city names Nova Celes and is accessible by bridges. A fantastic complex build, and it's currently free to download!
